Hi I am trying to burn a Divx file to a DVD to watch in my player and I converted it using DivxToDVD and i got the VIDEO_TS folder with the files in it which is all fine and good. But when i go to burn using copy to DVD it gives me this error. "Write error at 871968(16)-Code 0629 00 [Unit attention, Power On or Bus device reset occured]" and it spits out the disc. My burner is a HP dvd300i and my discs are SONY DVD+R if that helps. Also here is my Log:

Quote:>>>>> Code 06 29 00 [Unit attention, Power On or Bus device reset occured]
This means the unit has lost the connection with its bus.
This error is caused by a drive firmware that is internally crashing or freezing. The bus (IDE in this case) no longer responds, windows detect that the drive is no longer responding, thus generates a bus reset ? to try to reset the drive into a working state. All pending commands are then returned with this error class (06 - Unit attention)
This is a catastrophic error, usually, after such an error, the computer needs to be rebooted before the drive can be used again.
There are three possible causes with this error:
* For some external reason (maybe a write problem), the drive ceased to answer on the bus (IDE in that case).
* The IDE cable is incorrectly fitted or damaged
* There is on the IDE bus a conflicting unit that makes bus collisions.
This error is pretty rare, and often such error indicates a hardware problem and you should have your writer checked/tested.
Your burner has firmware v3.20 and it's the latest (I Checked HP.COM)
Is your burner alone on the IDE bus or there's an other device with it on the same bus ? (An other burner, CDROM etc...)
Are they both set to "Cable Select" and properly configured (One Master / One Slave)...
I'm only suggesting this based on what it's quotes above, about IDE BUS resets...
Were you ever succesful burning something with these media ?
With different media ?
Maybe it doesn't like those media ?
I would try an other brand and see if it will burn !
i have no idea about this IDE bus stuff.. but i do have 2 cd rom / burner drives... also in properties it lists 3.. could this be a problem?
Also, i dont know anything about cable select and master/slave
My burner however is set to DMA, i checked.
Yes, since writing this i have burnt 2 successful movies in a row, so i thought my problem was fixed, but the last 2 i tried failed again with same problem.
