Have been trying to use the Nero Vision Express 2 editor and have found it to be very confusing. I have a bunch of VCR tapes recorded on the History Channel and want to move them over to DVDs sans commercials as during a two hour tape, there are at least 5 commercial breaks on the tape. I was told that the editor in Nero Vision Express 2 would do the job just fine. Looking at the manual, in one spot it talks about "trimming" which I assume means cutting out material at the beginning and the end of the Title. However, once in the editor it implies that you can cut out anything anywhere within the Title so am having a hard time doing this, and I wonder if it's even possible to do. In essence, a particular title that I've been working on (with no success whatsoever) has the following index values within the title.
00:00:00 Start of Video
00:24:37 End of Video/Start of Commercial
00:27:12 End of Commercial/Start of Video
00:43:10 End of Video/Start of Commercial
00:48:01 End of Commercial/Start of Video
01:01:05 End of Video/Start of Commercial
01:05:07 End of Commercial/Start of Video
01:25:45 End of Video/Start of Commercial
01:28:03 End of Commercial/Start of Video
01:43:52 End of Video/Start of Commercial
01:48:03 End of Commercial/Start of Video
01:58:27 End of Video/Start of Commercial
02:00:00 End of Tape
Although not solving the problem, as a stopgap, using Nero Vision Express, I've put it Chapter markers at the end of each commercial, then when a commercial starts to play I simply click on the "Ahead" pushbutton and then the machine plays on at the point. Rather hokey, but it works, and far more efficient than using the "Commercial Skip" pushbutton on the remote.
