This is the first time I have ever had a problem ripping a dvd after nearly 100 successful rips.
AnyDVD breaks the encryption with no problem, but CloneDVD2 comes up with an error about it not being able to read a certain file... I will post the exact error message when I get a chance.
Thanks,
rs

so, here is a screenshot of the error message:
[img]C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\Desktop\New Picture.png" border=0>
AnyDVD seems to decrypt the disc just fine, but when i browse to my my DVD-ROM drive (drive E:\), in CloneDVD, and select the the volume (the drive E:\) it gives me the above error.
On the other hand, when I select the VIDEO_TS folder listed under the main volume (E:\) it gives me the following problem:
[img]C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\Desktop\clip_image002.jpg" border=0>
I really don't know what the problem is... I have very recent versions of both AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.
Any explanation would be much appreciated?
Thanks,
rs

well, DVD Decrypter did the trick, but i would still love any insight into this problem because i do enjoy talking to myself.
since i can't figure out how to post screen-shots i will just post the error message:
Unable to read video files from:
E:\
E:\VIDEO_TS.IFO: unable to open file
The system cannot find the file specified.
Please be sure all required files are available and try again.
Details:
File 0 E:\VIDEO_TS.IFO 2
i know that it would seem obvious that AnyDVD just didn't break the CSS, but it appeared to work. i was still able to browse the contents of the disc and view all of the dvd files, including VIDEO_TS.IFO...
anyway, it's not clear that it was a decryption problem, nor is it clear that the source was damaged--it looked brand new. why would decrypter work and AnyDVD not work? i have used AnyDVD with much success... i don't want to lose faith in it...
for those keeping track, the second error was as follows...
*in the preview pane of clonedvd*:
directory not found: E:\VIDEO_TS
[OSUtillQ [WString]]
