I have 2 Avi files i want to join but from what the computer is saying they are different audio formats.

Is there a program that will tell me what audio formats they are ?

Also is there anyway i can change one of them t another format so i can join them ?

Try x video converter or power video converter. Set video codec to XviD and audio codec to mpeg layer 3. The results should be compatible with most (if not all) burning programs.

Power Video Converter either does 13% then stops.Doesnt freeze the computer or anything but just stops.

If it doesnt do that then it comes up with a error while reading the file.

What could i be missing here ?

If you're missing some codecs, installing the K-Lite codec Pack would help. On the other hand, there is also a chance that your avis contain errors. This often happens if they were downloaded. If that is the case, then you may need to use a video fixer to fix the errors, or an editing program to cut away the corrupted parts.
