Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to edit .NSF files, as in videos, like maybe a program like Windows Movie Maker which can edit .AVI, .WMV an so on, but can edit .NSV video files, as I am in need of getting rid of adverts in between the show of the video?
So does anybody know how to do this?
Think this is the right section also?
Thanks a lot in advance ppl if you can help me

try the link below:

http://www.nullsoft.com/nsv/

description:
NSV is a new video format. It is designed to be easily streamed, support any audio and video codec, and be usable on nearly any platform. Currently NSV utilizes MP3 for audio and VP3 for video. Support for more codecs will be added soon.

In order to explore NSV, you may wish to try:
Getting some of our NSV samples (there is more NSV content at winamp.com too).
Playing back NSVs with Winamp 2.9+
Watching NTV Public Access which utilizes NSV.
Making and/or streaming your own NSVs using our NSV Tools (updated 4/19/03) (UPDATE 11/12/03: if you are using NSVSCsrc, use this updated version instead, it fixes many issues.)
Adding support for other audio and video codecs using our NSV codec SDK (updated 4/19/03

First of all you will need the following programs:
TMPGEnc to convert the audio and video file to an MPG
You will need nsv_demux.zip which contains the file NSVD.exe
On2VP3VideoForWindows.exe this is the codec which allows you to read the VP3 AVI file in windows and in TMPGEnc for conversion
and any program which can convert mp3 to wav

All of these programs are free.

The process is as follows after you aquire all of the software.

1) Install all of the software : ) easy enough
2) Use NSVD.exe in comand promt with the following command structure:
D:\NSVD.exe -n input.nsv -a video.AVI -w audio.mp3
3) convert your output mp3 to a wav file
4) TMPGEnc to combined your two files into one mpg file...when i converted into mpeg1 the video was quite jumpy so converted with the following settings:
Mpeg2
30FPS
Interlace ON
Under advanced i selected noise reduction and sharpen edge just for the hell of it.

Nanu-nanu says...I did not create this, I spents hours looking for a way to convert nsv files and be able to edit them,.....funny thing is I dont have dang clue about command prompt...so even with all the tools I am SOL...can any one explain step 2 in term for a complete novice to command prompt?

I tried to convert my .nsv files to AVI by using the NSVD.exe it looked like it worked, but the TMPGEnc program cant open my new created .AVI file. Does anybody have any idea whats wrong?
I downloaded the NSVD file as well as the TMMPGEnc program. The NSCD.exe creates a video.aci and a audio.mp3 but both files cant be opened by any program.
Maybe one of you can find my mistake.

Not all nsv files use vp3. But that wouldn't explain the audio not working. Assuming that it is the NSVD that I compiled ages ago there is an option to dump the audio to the avi. You could try that.
