Those are Taiyo Yuden, the best there is. Do a forum search and you will see nothing but positive feedback. BTW do a search on Memorex, I dare you :)

I use memorex for every thing, they are the best. I have burned 100's of things with them and never have had a bad burn.

Hey man whatever works for you. That's why I suggested the search, so Darkstar3 could see the good and bad of both media. Not too sure if there is much positive for Memorex but at least I offered the search

If you want to get the fujis that are Taiyo Yudens, make sure you get the 8x ones that say MADE IN JAPAN, not made in taiwan.

@ darkstar
im not EVEN going to add to this possible media war here~ :P the sony dvd+r also if MADE IN JAPAN are TYs too (check my sig for the media coding).
check my sig. for recommendations, the MIJ as wolfniggr stated ARE the Taiyo Yudens, the MIT are NOT~ this is true for the sony as well~
if you want TAIYO YUDENS, ALWAYS make sure to find the MADE IN JAPAN
@ philipman
where is venom...i haven't seen him backup your memorex camp in a long time, i have been wildly recruiting for my TY camp here and the numbers are growing~ have a good day, i don't want to start a fight here so i'll let others be the judge as to what is good for their particular setups~ :P
what works for one, may not in fact work for others~ :) i still personally feel CMC MAG is crap~ LOL
Recommended Media:
Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

kivory,
Can I be in your TY army (weekend warrior) and creaky's verbatum army full time? I use more verbatums than TY's only because thats what I've got the most of in my stock pile. It also would have helped if rima would have sent me full hub printable TY's instead of just printables. I prefer full hub printables and since thats what my verbs are they get used most of the time. Both burn most excellent.
I'm staying out of the memorex/CMC Mag (crapola) war but will add that you seldom see backup problems resulting from useing TY's or verbs and always see problems with backups when memorex/CMC Mag is used. Some can get by useing memorex/CMC Mags but on average they will cause more coasters than good backups. Now that you can buy premium media for the same price as budget media why not just buy the stuff that has the most favorable odds of producing a good backup.

@Mort81
I agree quality media is now pretty much available at low price, when I first started buying Memorex was the bargain so I bought one spindle and had nothing but problems, paid more money and bought Verbatim which has always worked. Problem is Memorex has a higher recognition factor than Verbatim, so most people think it has to be good, but a lot of times it is not. There are those that do not have a problem with Memorex and they are lucky, but as you stated we see more bad logs with CMC Mag produced disks than others.

@mort81 - LMAO!
If these TY turn out to wipe the floor with the Verbs, there's hardly any cost difference for me (at the moment) then i'll not be not disbanding but lowering the status of the Verb army to Defcon 2, thus allowing reinforcements to train up in TY frontline activities.
not that i'm counting but 45mins till end of workday and freedom to burn, burn

@ mort
OF COURSE buddy~ weekend warrior is a great position~ you know of course that i am probably equal to that of a 5-star general in creaky's Verb army right? i stand by my Verbs too...we should just merge the two and make it the INVINCIBLE TY/VERB battalion~ :)
this whole "media war" thing i posted up is making me laugh so hard, i appreciate the humor in other members wanting to "join my TY army" i hope this eases the tension in some of these threads on here~ :P
there is just SO much evidence supporting me/us/TY army in the TY vs Memorex (CMC MAG) debate~ and it's not only on AD either, a simple google search as creaky suggested to this one guy i was responding to will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the MANY problems people have had GLOBALLY with memorex/cmc mag dvd media products.
i don't think this "media war" can be lost by OUR camp~ TY will prevail since we have the Verb army to back us up if reinforcements are needed :)
good day to all of my good friends here on AD, you know who you are and i wanted to thank you for "backing me up" on this whole TY thing~ your sound advice and support are truly appreciated~ :)
