i know burning dvds heats up the system but will anything be affected including my burner if i burn dvds all day and all night? Will my system over heat?

shouldn't have a problem, as long as you have adequate cooling and hard drive space. Avoid multitasking too.

probably!, but it should take a lot of use to bwear out a decent one; my current burner has done about 1000 by now and still going strong. Plus i got the receipt and at least 6mths warranty and would just return it for a new one.
