I have printed many DVDs, it's a bit tricky, but I manage. This time is really strange, however. I am using the Epson Print CD software that came with my R200. When I select print, the printer only wants to print on paper. I select Tray, but there never has been more than one option even though there a tray 1 nd tray 2. The designing software works fine, and the printer works fine except for this new problem. Please, tell me what I'm doing wrongly.

Sorry for not replying sooner.

I found the problem. While in the Epson Printing CD/DVD program that comes with the Epson R200 software, I printed a single page. Apparently, this changed some preference settings necessary for printing the CD/DVDs. Since I had never done this before, I didn't realize settings had changed. For one, it went into automatic, where as manual was necessary for printing the DVD.

Thanks for your help, it great to know there are people like out out there willing to lend a hand.

Trouble is (as you can see) Rotary's hands are always busy.........LOL

Haven't got your printer, but if any settings get changed, then usually the next time you use the application the previous settings become the default, until you change them again.........

On a side note, I have been looking at possibly purchasing one of those printers, how do you rate it?

I don't know if they still make the Epson Stylus Photo R200 anymore, I think I got this one on the tail end of it's extension. But, the reason I wanted it was due to people on other forums advocating it's quality. It cost me $100.00 and it prints blank media DVDs. It's also a good straight printer, just won't do it again from within the printing CD/DVd software.

I like that I can purchase just the color ink I need, NOT an all in one cartridge. I use meritline.com for most on line purchases and as far as the ink goes, it's not the Epson brand I purchase due to cost, it's G&G and except for when I want a really true red once, it does a fine job and much cheaper than Epson?s ink. The ink cartridges are easy to change. I've even put one in, found out the one being replaced still had ink (trying to solve a problem which wasn't an ink problem) so I took it out, plugged up the tiny hole with piece of plastic that was used for something else on the cartridge and meant to be tossed, taped over the hole and stored up upright, and eventually, after the cartridge in use ran out, popped it into it's place... worked fine.

I found it very trick to actually print the blank DVD medium. Doesn't follow exactly what the book reads, but once I figured it out, I wrote down the instructions. I've read on some forums that there are some quirks others have had, but nothing I haven't read about other printers. The next Epson in this same family is the R300. I understand the only difference is it now prints photos from a memory card too. It, of course, cost a bit more.

I'd buy another one.
