OK here is an update, I think this may be a problem with my chip, I can play originals of PS1/PS2 games with no problems, PS1 copys play with no problem useing the 1/2sec hold reset start method but, I have not been able to make a working copy of any PS2 games. Anyone have any ideas on what the cause is? I am useing DVD Decryptor to make the ISO's and I have tried useing Nero and Roxio to burn the image to disk but nothing seems to work.

use DVD Decrypter to copy the image (ISO) to your hard drive, and then to burn it to the DVD.
ISO->READ
ISO->WRITE
Can't help you with your chip since you didn't say what kind it is.

Useing a Magic V mod-chip on a model v7 PS2.

So then I should use DVD decryptor to read it and burn? OK I'll try that.

i dont know a great deal about these chips,
but i did find this

http://www.psxtune.com/psx2/orderm5e.html

it doesnt say whether its compatible with v7's,or whether its just stating the fact whether its comptible with the newer models,i.e 9 +10,i dont know even you have the same chip

it doesnt help much either way.!

have you got any games to boot (dvd),which disk s are they,what type?

Also from reading this make sure you are using DVD-R discs, it does not say it will play DVD+R
But it will work with V5-V11 consoles
And yes use DVD Decrypter to both read and write (burn) the disc
And use the MDS file DVD Decrypter creates when you burn (write) to the DVD-R disc.

you said you had to hold the reset button to play ps1 backups.so that must mean you have to switch modes to play your ps2.alot of modchips you have to switch the modes to play different backups.it usually involves pushing the reset button at a certain time.you should look up your modchip and see how to switch modes.there should be a way to turn it off and on too.some modchips you have to tap(not hold) the reset button a few seconds after you turn the ps2 on to get it in ps2 mode.
