Cannot turn off subtitles on Collateral

Hi. I made a back up Collateral successfully but I cannot turn off the subtitles, either on PowerDVD or on the home DVD player.
When decoding, I removed about 6 different languages (menus, audio, subtitles).
Everything was set to English (including English subtitles). I know that it would be simple to remove the subtitles, but I want to keep them for my wife, who is not a native English speaker.
Would appreciate any tips/advice.

By any chance, did you use DVD Decrypter first? I noticed this happens a lot of the time when I use decrypter to rip(only arccos protected dvds)first and then use shrink to compress or re-author. If this is the case, just use shrink to rip and compress(no speacial protection for this dvd). One thing you can also try if you use re-author, is to right click(mouse button) on the main title and choose "Set Default Streams...". From there you can set the default audio and subpicture streams. Hope this helps.

Thanks Wolf for taking the time to read this post and give advice. Just as you wrote I had used Decrypter first.
No, if only there were more English audio with Japanese subtitle DVDs available in Australia!
