you dont need half of them ,
when you start converting files,the best way to keep track of them is to put each part into a separate folder on the desktop,
i.e starwars 1,starwars 2 starwars 3,this way you wont get confused when you are extracted from rar files or bin images,as they often come in pairs,sometimes in 3's
if you are planning in converting lots of movies,you will need an essential app's such as WINRAR,and ISOBUSTER,these are used for extracting the avi's.mpeg's,and opening rar files
avi's are very similar to bin images in may ways,but the way you treat them is slighty different
AVI'S
avi's can be loaded straight into vso's dvixtodvd,right on top of each other,up to 3 files at once
they will be merged and joined onto 1 file,called a video ts folder,
this contains all the lovely vob's...
just burn the ts folder onto a dvd disk with clonedvd2
BINS
these can be burned straight onto a CD disk,but you are better to convert them first,so you can burn them onto a dvd disk...I.E
if you have 2 bins,which make up 1 movie,in 2 parts....
create 2 folders on desktop,i.e starwars 1 / starwars 2
open the first bin with isobuster,and source the MPEG2 folder..
right click on this,and source "extract but filter only mpeg frames",
extract this to the first folder
repeat this with the second bin image,putting in the second folder
you have 2 sets of mpegs which must be made dvd compliant,..
you can try loading them both in vso's dvixtodvd,but i doubt it will accept them
there is another app' called mainconcept which converts mpeg's into dvd compliant mpeg's,and you could try that,but after that you will need to use tmpge author to make the vob's etc.its a long process!!!!!
getting back to the mpegs from the bins,like i said,vso's dvixtodvd probably wont take them,
in which case you can try using nerovisionexpress,to create a dvd,
this again,as you pointed out takes a long time depending on pc power
if you use the nero route,my advice would be write to a folder,and not straight to disk
there are lots of app's you can use,but as gringle suggested,try and keep it simple for starters,as i myself get stuck all the time
