Hi, I have been lurking for awhile now, and have read many posts.
I have a problem and Im stumped.
I have downloaded 2 movies to my HD. Both were in AVI format.
Then used DivX to DVD to convert, then burned them to a Maxwell DVD+r, using Copyto DVD..... works fine in my laptop and my dvd player in my desktop, but then tried to view in my home DVD player and did not work..... is my problem my disc? the way I burnt them, or my programs??

I have 4 more movies I would like to burn, but would rather wait until I find out what my problem is before I do so. Dont really want to waste the time, took 4 hours to burn the one DVD.

I also have DVDshrink and nero express 2 , loaded to use if I have to. Thanks!

Well the most simplistic answer would be, your stand-alone player don't like DVD+ try a DVD-.

Without knowing your PCs' 'specs' four hours for a burn seems a tad excessive, I suggest you look a scubapetes guide .re. preparing your PC.

Thanks, Im going thru the link now..... I did post the wrong info, it took me 4 hours to convert the AVI's to DVD format. then only 1 hour to burn to DVD. I assume the converting is the long part of the process. And I will try the DVD-r.. I guess im off to the mall to find new media, with all I have read the verbatim (sp) is the best. Again thanks for the quick reply!

be careful which verbs you buy... some are CMC (which suck)

stick to metal AZO and you should be ok

No probs Ippy lets hope it solves the problem, either way you're far better off using Verbs'.

On the four hour AVI conversion time, it may well be worth looking at the VSO free conversion tool.

that'll save you some time :)
