Hey everyone,

read through the FAQ in the other section, and I think I might have found out the problem, but I want to ask and make sure.

I have been loading backup DVD's for my PS2 and a few of them have been doing the same thing... they do what I call flicker. I can see the game loading and working, but the screen scrolls or flickers from top to bottom constantly... it reminds me of TRACKING problems with a VCR.

For now I will hold my thoughts on what it is, and see what the experts have to say.

This is a new slimline version PS2.

Looks to me like you have a compatibility issue. You are either playing a PAL game on an NTSC system or visa versa.

SwapMagic v3.3 or 3.6 have the option to fix this for you by selecting it in the SwapMagic menu. (PAL or NTSC)

If that isn't working you can make another .iso image of that game on your hdd and use a 'PALtoNTSC Converter' program to fix this manually. Apply it and reburn the .iso image file. Normally you will shave a little bit off the top and bottom, but not too much.

yeah it does indeed sound like region problems

try the thing built into swap magic but ive been telling people to try it recently and it gives you a few more colours or stops it flickering as much but its still not right

best way would be too patch it IMO

That was my thoughts too (PAL NSTC)...
I have a 3.6 SWAP MAGIC disk set... ill try the region select... I think thats the second menu option when it comes up...
