hi what i really want to do is put my daughters disney films on dvd-r, but i would like to put 2 or 3 movies onto one disk, is this possible, and if so is there a guide available on how to do this.

I have joint short clips together on a dvd-r but as i said they all run one after another, what i want to do with the disney movies is keep them seperate so my little girl will have a choice of what movie to watch once she loads the dvd-r.

Thanx in advance.

hi

apps needed are DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink both apps free...

now to put 2 modern films (main movie only NO EXTRAS / MENUS) on to a dvdr is quite a feat and quailty will be terrible! as new movies are like 6/7 gig each to compress 1 to 1 dvdr is bad enough! to put 2 on is awful quality! see what i mean! dvdr's are cheap now £10 for 50, but use something good like RITEK (ID code = GO5 dye)

dvd decrypter to rip the dvd to your hard drive

dvd shrink to compress main movie only to fit a dvdr and set shrink to use DVD Decrypter burn engine after you hit the BACKUP button

if you want all the dvd just back it up to get main movie use reauthor mode in DVD Shrink and drag main movie over! then hit backup button

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

Another option is to save the files to your HDD as DivX files first and then just copy them as data files to the DVD. But for this to work you are going to need a DivX compatible DVD player, Philips do a good one in the UK for less than £70, so a similar version or make should be available anywhere.
Personally, I would just use 1 DVD per film, (Ritek G05 about 25 pence each online) but if this really is a problem then, DivX will give a very good quality backup which a child will never be able to see any difference with.
I use DVD2AVI with the xvid codec loaded.

you are best sticking to 2 movies to 1 DVD-R if using DVD Shrink. the only problem being is that your daughter will have to watch them in the order you rip them to DVD. unless she knows how to use the DVD player remote to select which title to watch.. my girls dont & they are aged 10 & 12!

Nero 6 is a good program if you want to create a DVD-R back up with a simple menu.

Can you not use a simple menu in decrypter. I ask this because i have burned a couple of the movies in a video_ts folder so i was planning to use shrink then back up and burn with DVD Decrypter.

I don't think we are suppossed to advertise, but as the following site is also listed on Afterdawn anyway, I would recommend SVP (Blank Disc Shop), they are always geniune discs, cheap prices, always quick & reliable delivery and will always correct any problems straight away. But you can probably find plenty of recomendations from various people, so go with who ever you feel happier with.

Hi, the same site has Cd cases for 12p and DVD cases for 9p each, they also do multiple DVD wallets and DJ style cases.
I can't help with the Nero, as I think you need recode to do it and I don't use it.
