When i was first learning how to copy ps2 games i heard about dvd decrepter and that i didnt need any EXTRA PART. So when i tryed it i was amazed that it read it correctly but wheni put iso write it burned but my ps2 didnt read it? help please. Email: andrew_needs_to_Read_The_Forum_Rules@afterdawn.com

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.

So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

DVD Decrypter should do the job perfectly well.

Two important things:

1) When burning the image from comp to DVD with DVD Decrypter, be sure to choose the ".MDS" file for burning, and not (!) the ".ISO" file.

2) Use quality blank DVDs. In my case, Verbatim -R 4.7GB work best.

wheni went on DVD Decrypter and copyed the game to my hard drive it went fine and when i switched to ISO Write i selected the MDS file and it began burning but when i tryed it on my PS2 it said in quote"please insert a playstation or playstation 2 disc" what am i doing wrong or is it my playstation?

and i used memorex 4.0 GB DVD blanks does it make a difference?

Memorex is probably the worst blank dvdr's that you can use. Verbatim is good, probably the best you'll find in a retail store. Online purchasing, go to supermediastore.com, rima.com or meritline.com and get Taiyo Yuden media, make sure you also burn at the slowest speed possible (very important).
