OK i used to come here alot when i started moddind my ps2 but now im trying to do my xbox. I have a 1.1 box but dont know where to start. Ive been reading alot of threads about backing up the hd and all this other jazz but i just want to make sure i know im heading the right direction. I really need to know which bios work best with 1.1 boxes. and what i need to do after that to upgrade the hd. I have a spider 1.1 chip and am officilay lost. So some one please have it in your heart to help a loly noob. Srry if this was disscused in a past thread but i didnt see anything and ive ben scoping the forums out for about a week. thanx.

Spider chips suck ass dont buy them! Got mine in the mail and tried to install it according to the websites tutorial and cut the wires. Installed it and noticed that a pogo pin was missing. i dont blame bm mods because the missing pin was not in the ton it came it. so im mad as hell because im out 40 bucks. oh well any suggestions for other solderless mod chips?

with a 1.1 xbox you can just do a TSOP. (couple pieces of solder on the mobo, very simple..... and free) after that use slayers 2.6 final to install your bios, evox and other handy apps. you can get slayers from a good torrent site. good luck

The only thing is that i just wanna put the backups on the hd. The tsop only lets you do dvd backups right?

Sibce one of the pogo pins on the chip broke cant i just coil some copper wire to complete the data transfer or does it have to be the little pin? just an idea.

well basically you get what you pay for. but i just looked at some pics of the chip you got and all you have to do is spend about 15 bucks and get a xodus usa universal soderless adapter. once you get that then just flip the chip upside down and it should work just fine for you. from what i heard and have read though, the spider isn't a good chip. so i would chop it up as a loss and get a xenium ice (which i prefer) or an xecuter chip. if you have any other ?'s, just send me a message

also, you should've looked around for that chip a little bit more, cause i remember seeing them for only 19.99
