right, i'm determined to beat this one!

i thought memorex would be ok as they're rewritables (see the links in my sig for why not to use bad media that aren't rewritable). If you had Nero installed i'd say do a 'simulation' burn so we could zip thru the logfile and verify that everything's fine.

we've i think exhausted just about everything we need to check, so i guess it's a question as to whether you want to try one of those nice Verbatim's and cross your fingers...Hopefully the Verb are datalifeplus ie top quality Verbs and not older 'CMC' manufactured Verbs.....

you could download dvdinfopro (free) and do a media check via the media icon, and post the results here

(you wouldn't believe how many times i type all this stuff to so many posts in a day, it's like deja vu!) so i don't always mention everything to do in one go as i got lost with all the posts sometimes

what exactly are you trying to do???

read or write ??

make sure you have selected the correct drive for the job

dvd decrypter has the option of telling you what the drives are capable of
tools>drive>capabilties

and you shouldnt have to worry about FAT32 when using DVD Decrypter,as long as the MDS option is checked,as it can handle files over 4GB

It depends how the ISO was made. There might not be a MDS file :)

Now you really need to do this!!! You need to try and burn an ISO smaller than 4GB. If you can, you will know if it is FAT32 giving you the problems. You can convert to NTFS since your running XP

@ALATONY - i see what flip's on about now -

- which reminds me, decrypter is an absolute mess of tickboxes, hence why i don't touch it. It might be easier to uninstall and reinstall

@flip,
if he has an iso bigger than 4 gb using fat32,it must have been made with DVD Decrypter with an mds extension,as it wouldnt have been possible to put it there in the first place would it?

or is there something else that offers this function

:)

System ASPI : ASPI is not installed
just noticed this,
didnt see whether you are running xp or not,because if you arent,then this may be the answer.
you have no aspi layers,and this is vital for communication between drives/software

get it from here and install them

thats if you are still watching this thread.....hehehe

yeah, i'm never too sure about ASPI so i install it and never have issues with it. I noticed the Roxio stuff but wasn't sure if that would interfere, the way it can with Nero..

All good stuff as it helps plug the gaps that i'm not sure enough about..

I deleted decrypter and reinstaled it sill no change. I tried to read a disc then tried to write a disc to see if I get another message and still same problems. Would you guys think if I had another software like Nero that the problem will go away? Or is it a problem with my burner? now keep in mind that I burn a cd with decrypter (a smaller file) successfully.
