Can anyone tell me if there is another program out that is as easy to use as DVDFAB Express?I would like to gain more experience by branching out to different programs, but unfortunately, I just cannot figure them out. And I definitly don't want to goof up my computer...Any thoughts from the people who have been using these programs awhile?

DVD Shrink is pretty much all i use (for many 100s of burns, and i only ever do movie-only), followed by DVD Decrypter for the odd newer protection that Shrink can't handle. Then all burns are done via Nero6.
Both DVD progs are super simple to use (plus many guides available on afterdawn for them, and other programs). Plus both DVD progs are free.

I think creaky has summed the situation up for the majority of members in here.
By co-incidence I was looking a the DVDfab site earlier today, and it looks an awsome 'bit of kit' for less than $55.00 'bout £29.00 UK, however for me, and I think quite a large number of other members, half the fun is learning how to use the free programs.

The guides in here are very good, and there's a stronger sense of achievement when one gets it right :)

Don't think for one moment, I'm being disparaging about the one click programs, for people with less time, they're ideal.

DVD Shrink, and DVDDecrypter won't hurt your PC, so jump in the pool and relax.

i use DVD rebuilder for movies requiring high compression (anything below 70% on normal films and 80% on films i really want to watch a few times)

quality is great with 3 or 4 passes, exceeding clone dvd2, DVD Shrink etc...

only problem is that setting up is a bit of a pain and it takes AGES (18 hours with 4 passes!)

yeah, that's pretty much why i haven't bothered yet. I can't be leaving my PC on that long unattended (don't leave it on as i live afloat and i have an Athlon so don't trust it to not catch fire; sorry i'm distrustful of most things). Plus i would probably find it a breeze to setup but i'd forget how it all hung together after a while. So still Shrink & Decrypter for me, all the way

lmao :)
nice sig by the way, i've just started watching season 6 of x-files. Missed most of them over the years on TV so am buying a season at a time in order and working thru. Also just finished watching 'Taken', then have the '4400' to watch.

I tried out DVDFab and DVDFabExpress, it works okay, but it is just a repackage Xcopy with a little bit more control. You have to go in and reset the compression, the default is 4200 which is a little much, but then you really don't have to worry about burning to the edge of the disk. And even though I would tell it to burn at 4x it still would do max.

I agree these programs are excellent. I had Xcopy for years and it was easy but using and learning other programs has been much more fun.

yeah - i just watched the 4400 last weekend - was quite impresssed as had missed them all on TV...

nice little 40 minute fillers for when you cant be arsed to watch a film.

im not exactly sure of the issues with athlons, i have had about 10-15 now and never had one overheat (much) just buy a decent HSF (heatsink & fan) , i even have my fan running at 5v to make it twice as quiet :)

i stopped watching x-files after about season 2 as i think it seemed to disappear up its own arse :D although its probably ok now

was taken any good? i need to get another mini series type thing

yeah Taken was excellent. And x-files is still excellent, i watch a few episodes every night and bought season 7 today (£28).

i just don't trust fans - if my fan stopped spinning my pc would catch fire in like a few seconds. even watched a video on the internet about the speed in which they melt without a heatsink
