I hvae been using dvd shrink for a few weeks without problems until now.

I have been trying to copy a 4 episode dvd and i managed to get all the files successfully copied to the hard drive and written to dvd.

But when I play the dvd, the dvd always freezes two thirds of the way through the first episode. I have tried re-writing the dvd several times to avail, can anyone shed any light?

what brand of dvd are you burning to?the file you are burning might also be corrupt. Try editing that segment out with some type of editing software or use GSpot to render the original file and see if there are any errrors

try to keep burn speed 4x or less, as high burn speeds will cause problems.

Choppiness usually comes from poor quality media or incompatible media with your dvd player. Does it play fine on other dvd players? In your computer's burner?

I am using own DVD +R.

I have sued the DVDs for other movies and they worked fine.

UI am using DVD Shrink, DVD Decryptor and Nero to burnd the DVD.

I am sure it is something to do with the episodes as I have tried extracting 3 out of 4 of the episodes onto a DVD (excluding the first episode which had the orignal problem) and had the same thing happen.

I have also tried DVD clone, which aaalso produced the same problem. I also cannot select or forward to the any of the last three episodes.

Is there any known problems with episode discs?

there are some problems reported from episodic DVDs, but not this problem. Most of the problems I've read about are poor video quality and can't rip the disc at all. So your issue lies somewhere else.

I'm stumped! What show is this that's giving you all these problems?

From what I have been reading, many people are having problems with episode disks. Maybe try reauthoring the disk and burn each episode 1 at a time using a multisession disk

If you reauthor you will lose your menu and most likely only get one episode usually the first. What you want to do is use shrink. Open the disk you will see the entire disk DONOT reauthorize. To make the shows come out better remove all foreign languages and subtitles. I also use the 5 second per frame menu option to further save space and make the shows look better I also use custom compression levels on the extra crap and behind the scenes which I use the worst compression this makes the shows look better. Instead of near 60% compression I usually get only 25% and that usually makes alot of difference.
