Hi all
I maybe a newbie and this is my first post, but i believe i've cracked the CRC Problem in relation to DVD's. As far as i know no- one else has.
The problems that create crc's are really non essential glithches in information, and as far as i know these are not always required to get a full uninterupted copy.
My method is simple just 4 steps
1. Download CLONECD, Available from this site.
2. Download DVDDecrytpter, Not sure if its on here or not.
3. Use CLONECD To copy the DVD, click top left "Read to image File"
(You will see all the corrupted logs as it scans the disk, dont panic!)
4.When this process has finished click on DVDDecrypter, Browse for Image.dvd, (usually it will find it and u will not have to search)
5. Click on the little picture of a hard drive and CD, and your done!!
I hope this solves everyones problems............

a genuine CRC error is by definition a corrupted piece of data. Not all corrupt data is 'not required'
- Quote: Cyclic Redundancy Check. A CRC is a type of check value designed to catch most transmission errors. A decoder calculates the CRC for the received data and compares it to the CRC that the encoder calculated, which is appended to the data. A mismatch indicates that the data was corrupted in transit.
Nice try though..

i am copy/paste incarnate.
i'm just messing. if you did find a catch-all that would be fine by me, it'd certainly reduce the sheer amount of posts i get in the midst of :)

As far as i can tell no data is lost, Although the only proof i have is the total times on the DVD'S are the same.
Also i wrote the dvd at 8x, i felt it was best to take it easy.
The dvd copy that i have playing now was heavily scratched, but with some toothpaste and a bit of tissue (For the DVD!) Its playing fine on my home DVD Player.
Im watching it now and its a perfect copy

From Slysoft.com about Clone CD
Quote: Copy protected movie DVDs can only be copied with AnyDVD. The movies will not be modified (compressed), but one-to-one copied
I think we need a few more programs here like something to compress a movie bigger than 4.3, and AnyDVD break encryption, or DVDDecrypter. If I am using DVDDecrypter then I really don't need CloneCD.

The post relates to CRC errors on DVD's when using such applications as DVD Shrink, Nero, etc. I was just offering a solution if they hadn't already found one :o)
