So I just burned a movie onto DVD+R and one onto DVD-R (just in case it was a compatibility issue), and I get only sound on the DVD player. I put in another movie I burned and it works just fine. Then I try the non-picture DVD in my computers and they work just fine there. The only place I get problems is on my DVD player hooked into my tv. Any Suggestions? The videos are already separated into Audio_TS and Video_ts folders with VOB files in the video_ts folder, and I use Nero to burn DVD-Video. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like just a freak accident. Try burning again, actually it'd be better to rip and compress the movie again too. If that doesn't work, maybe try different discs as media is usually the problem in these types of cases.

Is the book type in Nero set to dvdrom?

Weird problem, never come across that before, sounds like the player cannot lock onto/decode the disc streams, have you checked to see if there is a firmware update available for your standalone?

How can I get firmware for my standalone? Maybe you can help... Panasonic DVD-S35. I've never had any problems with any DVD+/-R's and never had any problems with putting my VOB's onto dvds. I did choose DVD-Video in Nero 6. I dragged the Audio_ts and the video_ts folders right into Nero.

Just had a look around Panasonic, but could only find firmware updates for standalone recorders which is strange!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, try just dragging and burning the VIDEO_TS folder instead, and leave out the AUDIO_TS folder completely......

Also, have you looked at the 'book type' setting, is it set for automatic?, if so change it to dvdrom and try again.

Also what version Nero are you using?
Look under the 'help' tab to find out........

and bring on that Nero logfile. it's in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log. All burns good and bad are appended to this log so paste a section here minus your serial number which usually beginw with '1A21' or similar. The sections for each burn are quite easy to differentiate as the serial number will be near the top of each section
