Well I just got the V12 Slim Tool Set and I was wondering how you can copy games onto a DVD..my computer runs on DVD-R and I have a program called Record Now...so can I just click exact copy and the game data will go to the blank DVD-R?
Also any good programs, if Record Now sucks which it probably does lol..for free btw.

you have to have a modded ps2 to play burnt games.
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

What? Are you serious? So what does the V12 Slim Set do?
Whats the difference between a burned game and a backup?

the v12 slim set gives you the ability to swap discs (i.e., SwapMagic & your copy)
there is no difference between a burned game and a backup copy...they are the same thing.
pick up a program called DVD Decrypter and do a search.

you did get the swap magic discs with your slim tool, right?
and there have been some people who have used record now to make copies of games.i dont have this program but im sure the exact copy should work.but DVD Decrypter is free and has alot of uses,so getting that anyway is not a bad idea.

Aright cool, my friend has a ps2 modded and he was burning his games through RecordNow and they all worked except God of War...Games he burned were, NBA Street 3, Mercenaries and GTA, so I will use that, if it doesnt work I guess I will have to learn that DVD Decrypter program , thanks guys.

god of war is a double layer disc.you would need a double layer drive to read it then you would have to try to make the game smaller to fit on single layer disc as swap magic wont play dl backups.so that is why you cant make a straght copy of it with record now.there will be some games you will have to alter to make them work with swap magic so then DVD Decrypter will come in handy.if you had a modchip you probably wouldnt have any trouble with games except dl games

What other games are like GOW? I saw the thread, seems like a lot of programs and things you have to do/use to get the game, I can skip it, there are a lot of games that do work.

put a game in your compie's drive, close it, click on the drive's icon in My Computer, and see if the file is over 4.3 Gigs or so...if it is, the disk is dual layer.

damn calm down butch!(or barney whatever your name is)i said you need a double layer writer for ps2 games.unlike movies ps2 games dont read in non dl burners.i know i have a burner that wont read the dl discs.for example my computer said gt4 was 2.44gb and everybody knows it is bigger than that.basically it only read the first layer.have tried other dl ps2 games and the same thing, they only read the first layer.
@bhavin
a double layer disc is a disc that has two layers you can write on.a single layer disc can hold around 4.4gb(gigabytes) of information.a dl disc has two of these layers so it can hold twice the data a single layer can.like i said before if your burner is not a dl burner it should only read the first layer.i do not have this problem with dl movies, for reasons i dont know why other than PS2 GAMES are not DVD MOVIES.

Ok, I was gonna use my sisters computer for burning games, but I realized my laptop had a burner and a program called IBM Record Now, so I will just use that to see if it works...
I have an IBM Thinkpad, is the burner good enough?

(This is your standard dvd + or - r format)DVD-5 is an acronym that means a DVD disc that is one-sided single-layer disc and can contain upto 4.38 gigabytes of data on it.
Now for dual layer format or DL
Also known as DVD-R9, this is blank DVD media that uses Dual Layer technology. It can hold up to twice the capacity of a single layer DVD-R
One form of DVD discs that means a single-sided dual-layer DVD disc. DVD-9 can hold approximately 7.95 gigabytes of data,
Your disc is a standard dvd-5.
You many need to rebuild it for swap magic,
Or burn it perfectly on high quality media.
My swap magic loads High TOC games with no problems,
(like motogp4 for example),
But you could try re-building the .iso
Possunt Quia Posse Videntur.

So if I burn a 4.32 GB game with IBM Record Now, the swap magic discs will work with it?
