Hello everyone,

Here's my cents on VSO DivXtoDVD or InterVideo Copy 3 with multiple files.

When using those apps to convert .AVI or .MPG etc.. to DVD, they will convert each files, one by one to it's own track.

If you convert a movie that has 2 .AVI files, there will be 2 tracks on the DVD.

A) 2 files or more, they will still play without a problem in your DVD Player. Each track will play one after an other.

B) The little downside of this, when your DVD player reaches the 2nd part of the movie, it will now play TRACK #2 and your counter/timer start at 00:00:00 again.

It's a little tiny downside.

If you which to get 1 track and 1 counter/timer across your whole DVD, merge them before the convertion, and/or Re-Author them to 1 track.

Happy burning !

Yo' creaky, I got a set-up similar to you, a week or so back I was talking to the guy who built this PC, 'and the last few' I've used.
I explained what I'm doing, and he agreed for a modest sum. To double up the H/D and the Ram.

hi

to convert to a good file from AVI you need good apps, as AVI come in different % of quailty, lower end could be causeing the blotches mentioned?

fact - AVI to dvd gets bigger in size no getting away from that one, divxtodvd makes a small output size but its a beta app and not a top performer as yet but getting there...

for a good app to get from AVI to mpeg2 i would use mainconcept, you can load mpeg2 dvd compliant files to TMPGEnc dvd author to make make the VOB etc and menus/chapter pionts (dvd structure) and the app will burn to dvdr aswell!

you can also use avi2dvd and film machine to load multiple AVI to get to vobs/ifo/bup or iso to burn (no menu - plays one after other) but you may be able to drop the dvd files to TMPGEnc dvd author to get chapter pionts? and maybe links to each? not sure on this?

also dont forget that you wont get many AVI onto a dvdr (depends how big to start with?) and if over size you need to shrink the dvd structure before burning (so dont make it to big before shrinking)

but with all this AVI to dvd has 2 losses of quailty fact! so the better the apps used the better the end result, better apps will make end files also bigger files...

you could try useing TMPGEnc PLUS and lower the video bitrate to output smaller file sizes, but i think you have to do this 1 at a time!

there may be more info but brain has gone hehehehe....

laters....

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
