I am trying to create a VCD using Nero 5.5. I have no problem adding the avi files to the burn project. However when I try to burn the large avi files (550 mb) I get an insufficient memory error. The machine I am using has 512 MB of RAM and I don't think that it is insufficient memory.

You're trying to convert those with Nero? Don't. Please, for sake of our society, etc -- DON'T :-)

Nero's encoding routines simply... how do I put this nicely... SUCK. They do have a great burning software, but they don't know a **** about video encoding (or the company who they bought the encoding routines from).

Use TMPGEnc to convert your AVIs to VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD format and burn those .mpg files using Nero.
