hi i have alot of avi movies on my pc and i use WINAVI video converter 2 convert them to dvd.
After this i use TMPGEnc DVD Author to create a menu and 2 have two dvd movies on one disc.
When i have done this i burn the audio_TS and Video_TS on to a 4.7gb Imation dvd disc at 1x using nero.
The first film works fine without any problems but at the end of the second film it starts to lag alot and skipps small parts of the film.
I just wanted to know if the media i used caused this problem. I used Imation. Is this gd or bad.
thank you

Hi again ehsan_c Imation is generally regarded as poor media. I don't know how many discs' you have left, so try this, and see if it helps.
Use the deep analysis option in Shrink, and burn at the slowest speed you can.
Some poor media claiming to be 4x will burn at 2x to a 'reasonable' standard.

@ehsan_c - your media is indeed bad.
let's try something -
download Nero info-tool from here - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/neroinfo.html
Run it, note down the following, and paste here. Here's what mine shows -
click on the drive tab, note down the firmware version
click on configuration tab, note down the DMA fields, ie on or off
it may be worth clicking on the aspi tab, and note down anything that might be missing

Main PC ~ Intel C2Q Q6600 (G0 Stepping)/Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3/2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500/Zalman CNPS9700/Antec 900/Corsair HX 620W
Network ~ DD-WRT ~ 2node WDS-WPA2/AES ~ Buffalo WHR-G54S. 3node WPA2/AES ~ WRT54GS v6 (inc. WEP BSSID), WRT54G v2, WRT54G2 v1. *** Forum Rules ***

You also may be burning too close to the edge of the disk reduce your burn size to 4334 or with the Imation maybe even 4300.

ok i will try that but if it was the media which is causing the problem wouldn't the problem occur throughout the whole movie and not just at the end.

The media is really not a good quality, but since you are saying that you are having this problem at the end, it is probably an edge problem reducing burn size can sometimes correct this, but you really should think of getting better media such as Verbatim, Sony, Maxell, or Taiyo Yuden :~)

With poor media the outer edges of disc have thinning and patchy levels of dye, hence the variations and errors in the burn.

as everyone else have so eloquently stated, poor media= inconsitent and/or BAD burns~ if you insist on continue using your Imations, please use the suggestions above to "help" the situation, but nevertheless, until you try some QUALITY media, your issues will remain~ :)
