my standalone dvd player will not play backups made with decrypter, but those made with nero work perfectly. i used the procedures given in the guides burning preauthored section for each program; both play on the computer but standalone only plays the nero backups. i was just wondering if anybody knows why this happens. my suspicion is that there is something wrong with the way decrypter does booktype settings, at least in my case. im new to the dvd burning scene, however, and would appreciate any experienced opinions.

specs:

decrypter 3.5.4.0
nero 6.6.0.13; automatically sets booktype to DVD-ROM
LG-4163, A103
Toshiba SD4700 standalone
Verbatim MCC004

so many people seem to love decrypter, so whats the deal?

Could you be more specific on how you are compressing the movie before burning with Decrypter?

Normally I create an ISO with Shrink and use Decrypter in the ISO Write mode to burn. I use the default settings without changing the booktype.

i used the folder2iso program, as recommended by the guide (link below) because i did not do the compression myself. however, i do not see how that could be the snag because the discs made with decrypter work fine on my pc. i doubt that there could be some feature of the iso that would make it not work specifically on my standalone but, as i said, im new to this

hi

i have used folder2iso myself on an iso (once!) then i loaded it with Nero virtual drive to test it, and it didnt auto play? so i thought WTF?

so i used what i have been useing for a long time which is TMPGEnc dvd author to make the EXACT same files into another iso and in Nero virtual drive it plays as should AOK!

now i didnt burn to dvdr but i think you get the picture!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
