Canopus Procoder v2 Help??

I am using canopus procoder to convert Xvid to dvd it works ok but i have a few probs..........first i use vobsub to force the subs but i can't get the subs to be selectable! I can't get a selectable option on my standalone dvd player they are permanent! i don't know if i need to onfigure soething in the vobsub settings or canopus? my other prob is background noise........the avis are fine till canopus converts them then theres very bad noise!!!
Any help would be very much appreciated!
