Ive never run into any pink discs. But the movies you mentioned, are some that have the new arcoss encryption on them. You need to rip it first with the latest version of DVD Decrypter.
good luck

Just like Jim, I have never seen pink DVDs. But I have heard of a few little video rental stores making backups and renting them out....

Any DVD has just put out a patch (5.2.3.1) tht will allow you to back up Closer. I have backed up successfully The Forgotten using AnyDVD already. In short, AnyDVD can solve you problem.

I too have found these pink disc s rather annoying to back up. I have the latest version od AnyDVD + Decrypter and DVD Shrink... but still have problems with these disc s. However after staying up all night to try and back-up Closer I came across a Solution. I use DVD Decryter to back up the DVD. Using the edit tab I extracted all of the files ie. Main Movie, VOB, IFO's etc. seporatley into the same destination file. I then used DVD Shrink to re-author this file, and on the Main Movie section I move the start point of the film in by 12 - 24 frames, and then created the ISO file for burning. Hey presto... works everytime (although it is time consuming). Not sure why this method works, but when I backed up Layer Cake normally using AnyDVD etc. in some DVD players it refused to play giving 00.00 on the clock display. You could however fast forward a chapter and rewind back to the start of the film. I suppose Sony/ Tristar put bad sectors right at the start of the title, and by ripping the files individually the drive never sees these sections as it would if you ripped it straight the way through. And by moving the in point of the main feature it also removes this problem with some DVD players refusing to play. As a test I tried backing up Suspect Zero(also a yellow disk) using DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD and got the usual read error's message. So i switched off AnyDVD, ripped the files individually etc. etc. and it worked a treat, have since tried the same method with a rental version Layer Cake (know this one causes problems)... It worked.....So it seems that by doing it this way there isn't a need to use AnyDVD either....hope this might help... Of couse it might only work for me..... Also if some one knows why this method works the info would help me sleep at night!!
