Hello everyone.
I am so stressed about this DVD burning stuff. It's so hard, and im having difficulty!
I have read Pete's page and followed step by step, but to no avail, it's just not happening for me.
If someone can please help me, i'd be so grateful, as i have d/l 3 movies waiting to burn.
I have d/l the Shrink program plus DvxtoDVD
I have encoded, compressed, and am now stuck bigtime!
If anyone wants to help, i'll be online all day!

just so you know, mods don't take too kindly about email addy's in the posts, so you might want to edit that out.
Now to the real issue. You downloaded some movies. What type of files are they? VOB, ISO, MPEG, AVI, etc? Will need to know to fully be able to help.
However if you got past using DVD Shrink, you should now either have a folder (called VIDEO_TS) with a bunch of VOB, IFO and BUP files or you should have 1 ISO file. If you have the ISO file, you can use DVD Decrypter (free, great, get it now while you still can) to burn it. If you have the folder with all the VOB files, whatever burning software came with your burner or computer should work just fine (usually Nero, Sonic or Roxio). If you can't figure that out, you can use Shrink again (Open Files, find VIDEO_TS folder) and after you click Backup! change output to ISO file and burn with Decrypter.

Thanks for your quick reply!
I have tried using Sonic, but it doesn't allow me, i think i have to pay to upgrade it. Windows media won't do anything either.
I will do what you suggested and d/l Decrypter.
I have both files, the ISO and the Video TS folder with a whole heap of crap in it, that i haven't a clue about.
BTW, when the ISO file saved, the icon that saved with it is the Sonic symbol IYKWIM?

hmmm....Can you find anything in Sonic's program about burning ISO? If you can, that may work as long as the file size is small enough to fit on a DVDR.
When you say Sonic won't let you burn it, does it give you an error? What does the error say? I used to use Sonic, and to burn the VIDEO_TS files start out burning a "data disc", then select the video_ts folder to burn. Don't open the folder and burn the files in it, I tried that and it doesn't work. You have to burn the whole folder.

SQUIZZLE, you're a champ!
It worked, using Decrypter! An error did come up though about unlocking the volume i think, but i ignored it and it still worked!
I did it! My first one, i am so excited... LOL
Hey another question in re quality. It's good quality, but obviously you can't expect great copies from a PC? Is that true? I mean it's clear, but you can see the pixels slightly IFKWIM?
But for a first attempt, im not complaining.
Also with the sound, i have to turn my TV up quite loud... Just louder than i normally would!

as far as the sound, I've read a few other posts about that but I've never experienced it personally. Not sure what their solutions were for that though.
As far as quality degradation, that is because most DVDs (original) are dual-layered and can be up to 8.5GB. What you downloaded is probably a compressed copy (somewhere around 4.3GB). The quality all depends on the compression program they used. Chances are it was DVD Shrink, as that is freeware. The best quality comes from DVD Rebuilder and CCE combination (costs about $60 US).
