awww whats the point? who wants to distract their eyes on letters??? i mean, if thats the way its gonna be sent over, sure. But if it's gonna be translated, why get it from now? Why not wait a little more to film comes out and not "yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" Sqare Enix?

piracy destroys the natural order of the balance of something or another. when you steal from "companies" you bring their stupidity upon yourself and everyone else. i mean, if you steal from me, i'm coming after you with the 5 deadly venoms and 47 variations of hurricane kicks because somehow, martial arts is acceptable violence.

I'm not gonna ask about the whole... martial arts thing... but why download the Japanese version when the English versions gonna come out soon? If you want the Japanese version... go to your local import store and order it. It is already out over there.

i'm assuming that our version will have the japanese language and subs for those who are used to watching subbed anime. but wouldnt it be sooo much nicer to be able to sit back and enjoy the whow without having to pause it just to read something that you would have otherwise understood if you just wait for them to say it like you understand it? damn...
i would have downloaded a japanese version just to support piracy, and brush up on my speed reading skills. but i dont have any P2P "file sharing" programs. i decided to get away from it before the collective "industries" come hunt me down with a lawsuit like they're doing all the regular people.

Ok I have to argue with a few points just for the fact to argue really.
Some of us, including me, are used to subbed animes and like it better. I like to read the english dubbed version of japanese episodes and movies better then watching the English. ][shrugs][ Some are like this also.
It doesn't matter to me. I have a downloaded verion on my computer. And I have the English version ordered and Advent Pieces ordered. So to say I'm promoting piracy would be wrong... to an extent.
But I have a question about your... "supporting piracy". What exactly did you mean by that?

welllll.... i just felt like complaining about piracy because i dont already have my japanese w/english subbed version like a bunch of other ppl. honestly, i wouldnt really care how i got AC. but i am just gonna wait for it to hit my shores becase i assume that it'll have japanese audio w/english subs. i wasnt trying to rain on parades by saying, "those who are used to subbed anime" because, i also enjoy subbed anime. i think it was supposed to be that way. you get to experience the cultural differences that way. when anime is dubbed, most of it loses some of its originality. which is why die hard fans watch subbed anime, and those super otaku go out and get it raw.
"supporting piracy" was just the phrase i came up with at the time of typing that. promoting piracy, or even doing piracy could have been used. whether you buy retail, or use P2P, you're suporting one side or the other, the industry or piracy, or in troten's case, both. troten makes me think of Vegeta. He is clearly a bad man, but he does good deeds. so at the end of it all, troten is my hero.

I agree. Troten is on both sides of the fence. Because he may have downloaded AC, (maybe a crappy-choppy at that) but he backs the crap out of it by buying advent pieces. hmmm.

past pages of this thread have discussed. But you know what? I think it's already in process. I mean, think about it. Tetsuya Nomura said that if they "do" decide to remake the game, it would take a crew of 500 and would time out to be about three years to process. So lets go.
2007: FFVII 10 year anniversary
The remake probably started before E3. So 2004-5-6-7
(1-2-3 years)
besides, why would Square waste time making a "Tech Demo" to see "reactions"? they know well enough by this time that the game was,is and always will be a success.

yeah, but thats actually the fun part. You never expect what to expect while you might actually expecting it all along. Square will always be ambiguous and enigmatic while being very obvious.

i got a question, my sister ordered AC and got it. She is very into anime but has never played FFVII.
Can you give me a few important details that she will need to know from the game to watch the movie?
I played the game myself, but since i have not seen the movie, i dont know what references she will need from the game. Could you help me out with the specific details shell need? Thanks in advance.

Um... I guess I could try... it's been awhile since I've played the game though :S... I'll have to try later though... cus I can't stay on long enough to reference nething at the moment. Check out http://forums.daeya.org/ there is alot of useful information about the movie and other things. Hope this helps for the moment... At the time being I haven't seen the movie with subs... I watched the Japanese version without the subs cus I haven't had the time to put the subs in yet... but I followed along alright so... I can't exactly explain everything.

because i want to use my input ability.
i say that you tell her about as much as possible in as few words a possible.
cloud went off to join the military. met a guy named zack and they became friends. sephiroth was the top banana that no one could mess with. he "mysteriously disappeared". zack and cloud became test dummies for 5 years (we assume), then escaped to become mercenaries, but zack got killed. cloud meets up with his childhood friend tifa. and she tells him about avalanche. avalanche is trying to stop shinra inc. from draining the planet of its mako energy and creating materia. i guess he is moved by this and joins the avalance crew. that's how we meet barret, jessie, biggs, and wedge. the last 3 get killed and we add more revenge to the story of battling against shinra inc.
aeris is a flower girl from the slums. cloud meets her while doing a job with avalanche, and later she joins the crew. red 13 is a dog-looking beastie in a test lab. he joins up so he can escape and go home. yuffie is a ninja girl who joins up so she can steal your materia later. Vincent is a genetically altered man, who used to work for shinra, so he joins up to stop them too. Cid Highwind is the master of flying machines and he joins because shinra company ruined his dreams. cait sith is a toy mog and is controlled by a man named reeve who works for shinra. reeve used cait sith to spy on cloud and friends. those are the playable characters that we're concerned about with minimal background info.
"the crew", we'll call them, is traveling around to do what they can to stop shinra. somehow or another sephiroth shows up and kills the president of shinra inc. sephiroth also takes this thing called jenova with him. in a flashback cloud explains that sephiroth once said that his mother's name is jenova. (crazy stuff) now cloud makes it his mission to stop sephiroth and jenova from creating this thing called reunion. shinra inc is searching for the 'promised land' and being followed by the crew.
aeris learns more about her history, ancestors and such while travelling. the crew also learns that sephiroth is searching for the black materia to call forth a meteor to crash into the planet. he is going to use the planet's lifestream energy to make himself into a god. sephiroth kills aeris because her ancestry gives her a way to stop him.
battling and fighting is good fun. during which, cloud learns that he is a failed attempt at cloning sephiroth after he mysteriously disappears. apparently this was done to a lot of young men. later cloud loses his mind and regains it. then the final battle and the game ends, but is it really the end?
if i've missed anything else that's important, i'm sorry. the brain has been distracted onto something else.

When you finish Final Fantasy VII at the very end is shows Red XIII and his cubs we assume run up towards Midgar which is now covered in moss and stuff... The is where the movie starts... then they tell a little about what went on between the events of FFVII and Advent Children... Thats the part your friend must have been talking about... Main importance of this I believe is to just lead into the story of the Movie... and to show that time has past since the end of FFVII...
But SuperXL.. I hardly call that "few words" hehe but alot of thats not relevant to the story of the movie...
Spoilers!!!
The movie shows mostly Kadaj and his crew (remnants of Sephiroth) trying to get Jenova for the Reunion to bring Sephiroth back... and shows some Turk action ^_^;

The differences between the two arn't really important. They are just pronounced differently depending which country your in.
The name "Aerith" originated with the Jap release of the game and was changed to Aeris with the US/EU release.
Aeris: English Term
Aerith: Japanese Term.

I'm slightly tired of hearing this... I suppose he does but what difference does it make? lol...
Aeris/ Aerith is Aerith but pronouced Aeris... thats why the English put it as Aeris... Sephiroths weird... Sephiroth it pronounced "Sephiros" but it couldn't be translated in this way to english... don't ask me... I just know it didn't translate right so they left it alone...

well, i saw AC with subs last night. (ordered) and people, ill say this. That movie was excellent.
I didnt want to see it, but when my sister put it on, i just got absorbed into it. Nevertheless, it was great, just hope the voices are as good in english.
