Kinda... the beggining was alot of of repeated stuff from the game... But they had to do that to show what all happened between the 2 years...

First things, first,
Final Fantasy 7 is the greatest RPG if not game EVER!.
To see a remake of this classic would be fantastic.
Many games today have lost their touch. Final Fantasy 7 told
one of the best stories ever for a game. The characters were right, the music and the length of the game. To be remade would see everyone who previously bought the game buying it again as well as a new generation of gamers who had only just realized such game existed through the movies.
FINAL FANTASY SEVEN WILL RETURN!

got that right. if anyone doesn't think it's coming back, they're either an idiot, should be killed through uses of magic and a huge collapsable sword, and/or other means, or is just on waaaaay too many happy pills.

Harsh! anyway, the problem with remaking Final Fantasy 7 is that they"ll leave out little details and obstacles, like opening the giant door in the mako reactor by punching down buttons in sync. That's a huge problem with remaking it is that they don't know what to leave in and take out.

i think that you're right about li'l bitty details. it'd be easier if the CELL chip turned all ps1 graphics into ps3 graphics on the fly immediately and without loading screens. that'd be super easy to deal with. i wouldnt have assumed that having to go thru the code for FF7 would be a big deal. just redo old stuff in an updated manner that matches with the original. (you can tell who doesnt program much)
the deal with hiding aeris' eyes, is because she's dead. (my opinion) but i think that's a thing that they do in anime, so you'd have to ask the creators.
i remember watching onegai teacher and near the end of the series, there was a flashback with the lead male talking to some girl (i think it was his sister) who i assumed was already dead, and they hid her eyes thru most of the conversation. you can check www.animenation.com to see if anyone asked this question in the forums and see if anyone answers it too.

About the little details... I'm not sure they would leave them out... that's one of those things we have to wait to see when the official release comes out... Also... I'd love to see more of Zack's story in the remake... kinda like Last Order was... just my personal oppinion... I'd like to see more of the extra characters storys too... like Vincent when he was in the turks and that kinda stuff... even if it was only "flashbacks" or something to that extend...

I'm not exactly sure why they hid Aeris' eyes... that's one of those things we might have to wait for the USA release... or just to watch multiple times to figure out...
But I have a question for you... what do you think about the grey wolf that appears in random scenes... I have a feeling that it symbolizes Zack and his "influence" on Cloud. If you notice Cloud does where wolf stuff all over his costume in AC. And at the end when Zack appears in the church doorway waiting for Aeris... the wolf doesn't appear... and in almost every other symbolistic scene in the movie it appears... or things that have to do with Aeris at least... and maybe Cloud too... Just my opinion.

if i'm not mistaken, the wolf is named fenrir or something. in an unrelated moment, he was an eidolon from FF9. i assume that it's similar to how, in FFX Jecht's "J" tattoo thing was all over the place. or even how Squall's Greiver was significant. it is possible that they used the wolf to represent jack's essence. maybe it was the 'lone wolf' thing. but if fenrir is the basis, then i would say that it's because of zack's strength. the (condensed) mythology behind fenrir was that he was a child of loki, and he was strong as hell.
i had a short theory about cloud/zack some time ago.
cloud wanted to be strong like zack. when the guys became test subjects for hojo, they escaped. zack got shot, but the jenova inside of cloud could have caused a reaction when zack's soul left his body (not shown on screen). cloud may have absorbed zack's essence into himself because of jenova. cloud looked like cloud which is why tifa has feelings for him, and cloud acts like zack which is why aeris liked him. cait sith said that cloud and aeris' stars were aligned or whatever because zack's presence inside cloud was so strong. and something about the reason he was wearing the cloak in AC was because of the geostigma, and his body was expelling those who were inside of him, zack & seph/jenova.

I don't think Square should remake Final Fantasy 7 again due to the fact that one Final Fantasy X came out, its just been downhill from there. And I don't want to see them butcher one of the greatest games made. Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9. were by far the best games in the series.
I prefer Final Fantasy 8 myself due to the graphics, the characters, and the story itself. It was a very compelling story. Also it was more realistic than the others. (Story wise.)
Final Fantasy Advent children looks amazing and the new Final Fantasy 7 game staring Vincent is going to be a disaster. Square is just trying to ride on the glory it once had.
If they want to make a new game, go back to the old format that it had.

-Job system
I know sqare can make some good games. So I think they should start doing that.
But that is my opinion...

Yeah, I can see that.
But to me, Final Fantasy 8's story was something I could relate to more then our oil situation because its something that is "closer to home."
Don't get me wrong. Final Fantasy 7 is an amazing game. I just prefer Final Fantasy 8.

If I remember correctly... Cloud bike is Fenrir... You not nessacarily wrong entirely... You could be right about the resemblance to FF8 and 10... Like I said.. it's a matter of opinion at this point...

i was thinking about his motorcycle after i typed everything. but yeah, it is fenrir. i think that medalion/charm/symbol is supposed to be fenrir too. i need to go somewhere and get my facts straight before i start typing. for some reason i'm not as hyped up about seeing this movie anymore. but i will be once i get my hands on it.

I really don't know what the wolf was for. And im not on the verge of compiling a theory just yet. Im waiting for the American release. Simply because im not used to reading subbed anime. And, i want everything to come in clear. There is a lot of sybolism that could be analysed here. So ill keep you posted it once i see it a third time subbed. (or in English)
By the way. If they do remake the game, i hope it looks better than AC. I mean, it looks good now, but, have you seen Tekken PS3? That would be excellent.
Another thing, i wish that AC could have been more in depth with the story, Dont get me wrong, but it could have shown more about the characters.
Just an opinion. :)

I'm used to subbed anime... but that doesn't mean my theory correct... It's just my idea that's all... as for the graphics of the remake... I'm not sure what to expect... I duno if they plan to follow the Tech Demo or go better... once again one of those things we have to wait to see I suppose...

I would like to see a remake of just about all of hte great FF's like 8 & 9... all they have to do is clean up the graphics, and it would be perfet, am I right? maybe add different music, cleaner walking patterns, Squall's sword actually being somewhere (instead of just popping out of nowhere in some places) and maybe make the GF things a bit better. As for the rest, that's basically all they need to do for them as well.
Regarding the movie, I think that they shouldn't have released so many spoilers. Maybe everyone has it wrong, like parts have been confused or chronologically been misplaced. everyone is just guessing at this point. we need to just shut up about our thoughts of what will happen in the movie and just wait.

well i like to hear theories. many times other people's theories will coincide with thoughts that you have, and you can discuss things based on those theories. i used to like arguing points of interest and ideas with my friends. but we've been too busy to get into theory discussion.

I keep hearing a bunch of complaints about AC having no plot. I think it did have a plot. But whos complaining?
I mean, give them a break. They're working on Dirge of Cerebus, Before Crisis. C'mon. If anything, they did an excellent job on it.
