FFVII was one of the greatest games ever, but I'm not so sure that a remake would be that great of a seller. The people who are the most enthusiastic about a remake are the same people who probably know every inch of the game world and it would be hard to add things to the game without ruining the integrity of the story. They could possibly, however, create an expansion pack for FF7 with new missions and quests and that sort of thing. I'm assuming they could because it's a common occurrence in PC games but I don't recall one off hand for a console game.
They could also possibly have success making a sequel to FF7, kind of like they did on the one with Yuna and the cute blond chic, (I think FF10 was the original and maybe FF12 was the sequel, I'm not sure - it escapes me), but in either case they definitely need to put serious effort into it as the original FFVII is one of the greatest games ever, so the bar is raised very high.

They are thinking about making a FF7 for the PS3 after the other projects are completed i.e. Dirge Of Cerberus (With Vincent)and the new FF game for the PS2.....the creator has said that he would really like to do a remake and make use of the graphics as well as add to the story...

that may be but the story is great if you dont like the graphics, why dont you look for the rare pc verion, its awesome!

Of course I'll buy a remake, I bought the PS1 version after watching Advent Children and the graphics and lack of analog joystic support took some getting used to. But the story is worth it; by the way a friend told me he has the PC versions of FF7 and FF8 and that they don't run on Windows XP.

I have a version of Final Fantasy 7 that runs on Windows XP....so your friend is wrong about that part...but I'm not sure about FF8.
It's against the Forum Rules to say where I got it... but if you do a search on certain websites with a certain client....look for Final Fantasy 7 Ultima Edition....Happy hunting

how many of you guys enjoyed FFX and/or FFX-2?? i seem to have been thoroughly pissed off at the voice acting and manerisms of the games. i dont think i minded the women looking like sluts too much, but everything else seemed to just get on my nerves. i think the story for each respective game was the only thing that was tolerable. but seriously, who liked these games? and why? i guess...

-700mhz ram.
-On par with geforce 7800
-rsx at 550mhz
-rsx is 1.8 tflops
ps3:CPU-Cell processor
-total of 8 spe's running at 3.2 ghz.
Cell is 218GFLOPS.

448 mb of ram(upgrading it to 1gb)
amd3000+

ok, I signed the petition. All i want them to do is keep every single thing the same but just make it Ps3 standards on graphics! Thats all it needs nothing more! you cant remake a classic it just wont be the same. All they need to do is make it again on the Ps3 for Ps3 graphics. It will be Awesome!

i think if any needs to be created its the ff7! what a fantastic game that is! by far the best of n e final fantast ever created, the graphics may not be the best but do they need to be it looks great as it is! but i heard at the end they had to rush it, hense the reason Aeris cannot be braught back alive, what a disapointment, this should be realsed agen and compleated fully with much more extras added on such as more monsters, limits, and a few extra characters to make it even better.
another point, get back to the final fantast theme, x-2 for the ps2 is going to far from the final fantast themes, go back to the orgionals man there going to far with what they can do these days and forgeting about what final fantasy is really about!!!

i heard somewhere that obtaining 100 tissues could bring Aeris back to life? does any one know if this is true or not? if so how do you do it once you have got the 100 tissues?
i dont think 8 or 9 needs to be recreated, 10 is good but x-2 aint that good to be honest or the chrytal chronicals for the gamecube,
has n e 1 also got the final fantast origions or anthology? how r they? n e 1 answer who can please thanx!

there's a way to gameshark her back to life of course. i know that during one of those final battles there's a spot for her to technically be a part of the party. and i think there may have been a way to bring her back in the japanese version, but that too may have been a rumor. it's whatever to me. even if it was rumored or even possible, they fixed up the dialogue and the rest of the gameplay to reflect the fact that she's dead. and that's the story that i'm sticking with. i was thinking, "if you're gonna bring aeris back, then why not bring jack back as well?" he was significant to cloud, and aeris. but personally i say leave the story the way it already is... just explain a few more things that seemed to begin or end outta nowhere. use director's cut commentary junk, because it doesnt necessarily need to be explained in-game.

right yes i agree thats the story line but thats not how it was supposed to be. because they rushed it they left her dead, right after you can get her ultimate wepon and her final limit, i think that this should be contined the way that they wanted it to go! it makes sense. using Aeris for so long and leeving her dead is a waste!
yeh i figured it wpuld have been a myth but i want to do it to see what happens, just not sure what im supposed to do with them once i get them.
whats the ff11 like for the internet?
