Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

well, you have a point, even if you do seem really arguementative
Square Eniz aren't going to redistribute and remake FF7 on PS3 unless more people have a PS3, at a guess about 10%-20% of the british public have one, 80% want one.
However, recently there has been a trend of inter-hardware play, eg. Xbox 360 with/against PC on Halo 3
Square Enix AND Sony could eventually pick up on the trend that everyone has a PC *hint hint guys*
Still, it will cost in rights, as the phrase 'PC' belongs to Microsoft anyway, and other small details like that cost money
So, something for any Square Enix/Sony representatives to think about
What costs more:
-Remaking the game for PS3, when more people have one sometime in the future
-Get in there for sure alot quicker, and spend money on remakes, rights, and new technologies/programs for PC users, and possibly open up a new competative branch against Microsoft
You know the risks involved with both options, and these options aren't restricted to the FF7 remake, but the remake could help spearhead revolutions in other games like FFXI, playing online, through the PS3 as well as the PC......
You can imagine the rest
I'd expect a bit of feedback from these ideas, they may help with further plans that Square Enix and Sony may be preparing

i dont think so. that user said he just found a remake vid on youtube. seriously, who hasnt seen the tech demo?? someone who has never had internet connection until just recently. or cable tv either.
but someone posted earlier that there have not been any "remakes" of any final fantasy games, and that's kinda true. all of the first 6 FF games were redistributed for PS1. those werent exactly remakes of the games, but more of adding additional content/movies for the game. like i said, we'd all love a FF7 remake for ps3, but it doesnt seem like it's gonna happen. when it does happen, THEN i'll get a ps3.
if sony really wants to sell a ps3 to the world, get some money behind squarEnix and some more programmers, maybe even the original team. think about that seriously, how many people are wishing for a FF7 for ps3?? too many. how many already have a ps3?? not enough. if sony and squarEnix got everything situated right, and FF7 did come out for ps3. both of them would fly off the shelves in record time. that would put sony back on top, and SE would blow up again. like i said, that's what i'm waiting for...

Ya I been thinking abotu it with MGS going multi console even if its a year later FF should too as well maybe that new money will help squares suck factor.
I will get a PS3 but at the current rate of thigns not for 2 more years the price is stupid and the games lacking,even a new FF game would not be worth while unless they put more effort into it than the last 3.
12 is so so so its sad.....at least they managed to improve the US VA work that and level design is abotu the only real improvements.
I am also worried about contemporary dev snobs screwing over remakes they did it to Lunar and fuged wild arms some.
As for future plans S/E like Sony has non they just spam things out and hope it takes.
the PS3 would have fcking won the day if they had enough forthought to release it at 380 with all the extras removed(wi fi Ethernet HDD bigger than 20 ect ect ect ect) there losses would be abotu the same but they would have won the BR market its insane what they did.....no one wants a 600$ system...

Hell I even enjoyed 1 more than 8 or 10.... 12 is really wearing on me it.(FFX is a mixed bag the setting the story is so so the gameplay is worse)

square exin has never actually said they have madea remake of FF7, all they did was tease us with making the demo, they may consider makig it, but they never really said they would, so dont keep your hopes up

Remeber Guys its not Square Soft Anymore its SquareEnix
Enix made games like Dragonwarrior...Hated them..square soft made
games like FF1 Nes version wasnt pretty but at least the had a bar
acrost the top with pic of land..Dragon warrior blank backgrond with a monster.. its sad but FF9 was the end For Square Soft
FF10 and so on is all square enix..I just wish they Would have left Orginale devs of the FF Seires there. Only left the origanal head honcho incharge.. not the devs oh yes the new devs that worked on the recent Lunar projects Did F up everthing... Long story Short it wasnt the graphics That grabbed the hearts of A many ff fans it was the story line the plot that made the sereis wat it is.. If they did mack a new FF7 remake with updated grafics it just would not be the same.. Enix would probaly add some new Turn based system and screw over the whole game..

DW 1 was good(FF1 better),2 was better(as good as FF1) 3 was great(better than FF1) and 4 came long before FF4 which was one of the greatest FFs made (FF6 being the other) hell it had almost as many charatcers as FF6 ,2 worlds unique charatcers to skill and equipment don't knock DW just because you don't like 1 or 2,they didn't start sucking till 5 or 6 :P
DW 7 fallowed in FF foot steps of uber genericness....DQ8 is not to bad but its equipment system is held back,the pot could make more items the charatcers could have a better skill leveling setup...
From FF 1 to FF 6 they always had a unique and interesting equipment system FF 7 changed everything from a jpop themed male lead to a un unique skill system(the whole every body every thing thing) it did work well but was slightly generic feelign in skills(while FF3 and 5 had the job systems their equipment system was more detailed and rich than FF7,8,9,X,12), FF8 to me is a joke furthering the whole Jpop thing with a romance world setting and a carded magic system with a super simplified equipment setup killed 80% of my interest in the game,FF9 was a true FF I don't care if tis cute I don't care if the story sucked the skills,charatcer to class and equipment is every bit FF and every bit good.
FFX was more experimental race/mini game/level design/skill than anythign else the sphere grid worked but the equipment system was broken by the time you got to customize it you didn't care anymore.
FF12 is broken as well while dialog and level design is great the equipment system is off and the skill system is broken so much so they released a fixed version in japan(since it came out after the US version)...don't even get me started on Chrono cross I want to kill the bastard that thought "lets take CT make ti a card battler game and then for kicks fck with the CT time line/charatcers"........thank god they have not had the time/balls/money to screw up a 3rd CT game I guess they got pulled into Kingdom hearts,while I am ditching on S/E did you see what they did to Dawn of Mana "a action rpg that resets itself every level" ZOMG the woollies will just eat this up!......
Its not just "square" that sucks Sega has gone down the scraper,Game arts is letting them selfs go as well (lunar,arc the lad,ect,ect) I could name a ton of other devs that have changed from gaming(fun interactive entertainment) to "art" or "interactive media" (flashy shallow gaming IE Doom3,quake 4,FF,every other game you can think of) castlvian is a series thats in its death throws the 3D games have been gimmicky POS and the later DS games are uber generic side scrolling adventure not a flipping castlvian game......hell capcom is even to scared to make a new 3D MM game because they suck at making money of their cash first cow and they have other IPs to rape like RE(well 4 was a improvement....) and DMC (3 was better than the last 2), I am happy they have lefted BOF to die quietly I hated ,BOF1 and 2 were good 1 being a bit better,I hated BOF3 and loved BOF4 to death.
Of coarse once you wake up from it and see things up close whats left, I hate movies hollywood dose not make smart and witty stuff for nerds or comic fans they rape IPs and repackage them to tweeens or the common sheeple, slowly losing my fanboyness for anime because japan has gotten censor happy on TV anime thats the brunt of all anime.
I cant tell whats up anymore either things are sucking more and more or I am just gettign jaded and bitter......
BTW did you ever play the lunar remakes on the PSX? I found them to be devoid of the neat and fun skill/equip/spell/field strategy systems that made the sega cds ones fun.
I just got wild arms alter code F I dunno how bad it is I have been putting it off all I know is its missing a couple summons(for pete sake don't remove things from remakes its STUPID,if you want to change it add that ex mode to the new game menu,so players can have a choice old style or new style) then again devs cant add button mapping and other options in the config menu..I guess they like thier gamers wooly........

I Agree completely Zippy And yes i did play the sega cd version of lunar. That is waht i was reffering to not the ps1 version. Grafics are not everything and i also love the Item cration and amount of detail that the Star ocean team put into there game i liked the first two star ocean games the 3rd one pissed me off. i also liked XenoGears it was unique also Dark Cloud 2 had some very intresting stuff. but its just like you said gaming is merging in to a new hollywood. Oh have you played the Y's series unique game too.
also the dragon warror was a bit depressing because i had played the
dragon quest 1 2 first for the snes i culdnt really under stand wat the wer saying but the detail was good. but you rant wasnt that bad.
i was expecting you to flame me

If you can still play older games (I cant anymore I am just to impatient/twitchy,the graphics help the newer games but the gameplay is deviod of "fun" damned if you do damned if you dont LOL)
there are full translations of DW 1 and 2 SNES for the roms.
I understand what you are saying tho hollywood bottoms out to feed the tweens and woolies(sheeple) ,gaming is heading there as well.

FF4 and 6 had deeper charatcers 7s were slightly simplistic on and off the battle filed, even 9 has a better setup but the story is lacking in places.

This made me laugh - how can the phrase 'PC' (which is just short for personal computer) belong to Microsoft? After all a Mac is technically a PC.

And how much of the market dose mac have?
MS is PC at least the mainstream PC.
As for S/E making games for PC or the 360 the mightly mighty bottom line will decide that, the PS3 has sold 3 or 4 million units in the last few months pushing it to almost 9M yes MS still have about twice as many units out but 30% of them are junk most litarly, with the PS3 climbing they don't have to go multi console and no publisher will take it to the PC them selfs and s/e is not interested in porting stuff to the PC they have enough trouble with not remaking the game with each revision (still pissed about the zodiac class system in the JP/Int version of FF12)

I think your a jerk remaking 7 would be the best thing for ps3 and ff
a true ff member would be thankful to play ff7 in HD they are going to have new ones but nothing would beat the originals in HD.

lol there are now 40k people who signed it and still no remake the only way the would agree to it is if millions would sign it and if we want that the game would have to be released all around the world and to tell u the i don't really think it would be such a good idea...what the point of takingaps1 game and making the graphics as good as a ps3 game ? ff7 is a classic and it should be left alone...they already ruined its rep by making the ff7 vincents story which i beat in like a day and it sucked :S

sorry to hear... but i can believe you. i never liked vincent much anyway.
but the attraction to FF7 is all the theories and junk that you can come up with and whatever. makes for good conversation too.
i would only assume that it's safe to say that FF7 remake is not coming to PS3. some people say, let the classic stay on a classic system. if they would make it playable from the PS3 hdd, i'll be happy with that.

I would still give ti a 50/50, but frankly S&E have much more fodder to cashin on, I liekd vincent thought he was cool,but the game is cheap on many levels and we will only see all their games fall to that level sooner more than later...of coarse if one of the new FF games do not suck in some glaring way I'l eat my tinfoil hat

just saw the update to Final Fantasy IV, so now it does give hope for seeing FF VII on PS3. why bother to do remakes of the older games on DS if you're not gonna listen to fans with one game that we actually liked. well again, hope for the future after seeing that.

Not played the DS version fo 4 yet still trying to find a from since I work a nearly full functional DS emluator, but one thing that cannot be ignored abotu modern game design is the lack of "fun" details they put in stuff,compare FF12 to any FF pre X and you can see that clinging to designs/balances no matter how bland is something game companies do well with now adays....forget fun nuances like in most of the FF titles.

it will 100% happen in the future,of course sony know just how big the remake will be i really cant think of anything right now that would beat a ps3ffvii remake so huuge,square enix fully used all ps2 hardware power to fullest with their last ps2 game ffxii and they are used to sony software which will also make ffxiii good but in future after ffxiii squareenix will be real familier with ps3 software that the ffvii remake graphics evrything will be pushed to the ps3 limit,i reckon just like ffxii coming out at the end of ps2 days but at the start of the ps3 so it might come at the end of the ps3 day but start of on ps4 and all that time they defo need to make the ffvii use all ps3 power and itll be huge as in levels bosses etc

meh they can afford to do it at any time after they release the the half FF games they are planning to launch soon :P
