Hello everyone,

I am very suprised the latest version of AnyDVD could not work on this one !

No one was succesfull with AnyDVD v5.2.3.1 and DVD Decrypter ?

Now that's weird, I love AnyDVD to death !

My first post now i`ve registered, just want to say what a great site this is, had same problems as kenev, spent hours trying to back-up Closer with no sucess, used AnyDVD for years, never any problems really but using DVD43 worked first time! Big thanks to everyone here, cheers!

Install DVD43 - then use DVD Decrypter and rip it to your hard drive. Easy peasey.

Hi, I still do not know what I am doing wrong but even with DVD Decrypter and DVD43 installed after 3% I have problems.

You can try the new version of AnyDVD it is supposed to work, there is free trial if you do not have this software

Sorry I am quite new in this, up till now I had always used DVDDecrypter and Shrink and I did not have any problems and when I did, just changin DVD Decrypter to "read" mode and then using Shrink it was fine.

When you said above use DVD43 is just keep the programme opened and use DVD Decrypter to read and get the ISO file in the hard drive. If I try this a window comes up saying

Ecryption Detected!
File: Video_TS.VOB
LBA:395

The disc is not supposed to be protected by CSS/CPPM so this somewhat strange!
Would you like to try and decrypt the encrypted data?

Note: If you click "Yes" or "Yes to All" , try again with "No" or "Not to All"

I have tried all of then, and still the same problem, after 3% it is just retrying and retrying.

I did the same having AnyDVD in the background but it is the same.

AnyDVD 5.2.4.1 (beta) and 5.2.4.2 (new beta) should be able to deal with the advanced encryption on Closer (UK). AnyDVD 5.2.3.1 (beta) was supposed to do this but it didn't work correctly. The latest beta versions should work though. :)

I have got AnyDVD 5.2.4.2 and it does not work.

Dunno why, it goes fine till 3% but after is just read errors and keep retrying and retrying and retrying. It is so annoying.

i think you may have a BRAND new perfectly clean, non greasy knackered discs / bad presssed discs, take it back and get a new one...

With AnyDVD 5.2.4.2 and the lastest ver of DVDDecrypter, I was not able to rip the German version of the movie "Closer". The rip process fails at 3% as mentioned elsewhere here.

However the free DVD43 3.5.3.113 AND Shrink can back up the film as an iso.
I used re.author and simply dragged the first angle version and pressed back up. The film fits onto a single DVD R so it does not need to be compressed.

@kenevs - Slap me for not yet reading thru this entire thread yet but i don't mind the odd slap. But to be serious i've only just stumbled on this thread and have some work to do.
Anyway, try running just DVD43 in the background with Decrypter. I suggested that twice recently and it worked both times.

i did Closer with just DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0, the only struggles i had with Arccos was when Arccos first appeared and Decrypter was being adapted via those PSL files; it took me a while to figure out how to do it properly at the time as i kept messing up the copy/paste of the sector numbers into the PS file :)
