Installed Flip Top Now Games Wont Spin Freely

I just installed my flip top for my PS2 and now the games won't spin correctly. It looks like they're not able to spin freely. It spins a little and stops. I was wondering if there was anything blocking it, or causing it to be unable to spin correctly. Another problem I have is the flip top wont open all the way unless I push the back where the hinge is and pull it up. When I press the button it only opens half way. Anyone else have these problems? Thanks for your help, in advance.

Hi there,

Make sure that when you swap a disc, it sits nice and flat on the spindle. When i put my lid on, i didnt notice a small ledge that the disc was resting on, and this caused it not to spin properly.

Also have you put back your white magnetic spindle correctly - this is the bit that goes into the top of the flip lid, and holds the spinning disc nice and snug when its running.

Thanks for the reply. I used the white disc that came with the flip top. The original white disk from the ps2 didn't allow the disc to spin at all. I got the flip top cover to open up normally but now the only problem Im having is the games not able to spin. They spin a little and stop and arent spinning flat. I think it may be unbalanced. I am going to take it all apart and reinstall everything. I may take it to a technician. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I know this may sound silly, but do you have your white disc the correct way up?

the disc should look like this in the lid-:

It turns out I have a faulty flip top. :( I am going to get it replaced.
