Im currently trying to burn a dvd onto a dvd-r. everytime i go to burn the disk i get an error message that says i do not have enough space in my temp folder on my hard drive. it says i need 4464mb when i only have 856mb. i have no idea what to do. please help.

go buy a a hard drive. the last time i looked newegg had some pretty good deals. try to get atleast 40gb. i would recomend something bigger that way u have room to grow.

How big is your hard drive? Go to Start>My computer. Click once on C Drive - in the details screen to the left it will show you how big the drive is and how much space is left.
Have you cleaned out your recycle bin? Check on see how much is in there and empty it - that will clear up some space. Also you can go to start> accesories>system tools>disc cleanup. This tool will also empty the recycle bin and any other temp files that you may no longer need.
See who much space this clears out. Don't forget to defrag also if you haven't done so recently

i have a relatively small hard drive, roughly 35gb. i work at best buy and just couldnt wait to get that dvd burner with the discount so i got it before my hard drive lol. guess ill have to go ahead and buy the 80gb hard drive ive been eyeing. thanks alot for your help, i hope it helps.

Delete the unused files on your hdd and get rid of excess junk, and empty your recycle bin. Then defrag your hdd. It's recommended you have 10-15 gb (8 gb min) free space to encode/transcode.
