I have been using DVD-Shrink to back up my stuff. Haven't had any issues with it at all, until just yesterday. Seems it won't burn to DVD+R media now. I have used it many times in burning these DVD's with no problem. Now it will not work with it.
My DVD drive is a Pioneer DVD-A08XL. Had a pack of the DVD+R Verbatim movie reel discs. Half the pack was fine until this started happening. I can get the coaster then make another attempt and use a DVD-R Verbatim media with success.
Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

I have something that could be relevant. In using the movie reel discs in DVD X-Copy I have had no issues. I did however upgrade Nero to the latest version, which DVD-Shrink utilizes. Would this have an impact or cause the problem I have posted? I have uninstalled Nero and went back to the previous version. I have to test this theory now.

Although most verbatums are top notch stuff (made by MCC) there were a few made by crapola CMC MAG a while back and it seems if I remember right they were the movie reels (could be wrong). Check the media code of your verbatums. Also try burning with DVD Decrypter and see if that cures the problem. Make sure when you updated Nero you didn't download INCD packet writing. This can conflict with other programs causing problems.

Follow up.

After removing the upgrade patch and re-installing Nero. I was able to burn again successfully to the DVD+R. SOmehow I just don't think I would have gotten 4 bad discs in a row from different points in the stack without something else being wrong.
I guess this is a word to everyone then. The upgrade patch could cause issues.
Thanks

Yeah, It was an update patch that was put out by Nero. If memory serves, it took the version from 66003 to 66013.

I wonder if the same problem would occur if the full version of the 66013 would cause the same problem, or if it were just a patch-upgrade thing

Hi there,

I am at v6.6.0.12 but noticed a few people having issues and they are at 6.6.0.13

Is there known problems with 6.6.0.13 or it works well ?

I will look at the change log, probably not even worth for me to upgrade. It works, dont fix it :)

But hey, I'm a version freak.

if I have v1.0.0.0.0.0 and v1.0.0.0.0.1 comes out, I want it :)
