jsut got some TY 4x -Rs from merit line on monday. have made 10 attempts and 10 coasters. had no problems with the Ty 8x -r.

have decrypter set at 4x burn speed. will start writing disc goes up to 4.7x burn for a few seconds then go down to 0x and then error.

tried writing at 2x-8x and no luck. any ideas??

Hi there,

What's the Media ID of those DVD-R ?

DVDInfoPro can read the media ID off a media !

Can you provide us a burn log, if you try burning with Nero or VSO CopyToDVD, maybe we can see what's going on.

Check your DMA settings, make sure DMA is set on that burner:

Have you tryed a different burning software and try at 2x then 4x !

It can't be the media if they are genuine TY !

i jsut cant figure it out. i ran through my previous 100 8xTYs burning at 4x with but a few coasters.
glad they are genuine dics
i havent changed anything except the dics. 8x to 4x

same version of decrypter and shrink

I had a similar problem,but I found out I was doing too much at the same time(3 different discs)Try just doing the one movie.
I also had to flash the firmware in 1 of the burners(slowed the others down.)
TY is a good disc,never had any problems with them....usually my error.

i am having no luck at all. i have tried all i can. tried burning at 2x 2.4x 4x 8x
i only do 1 thing at a time. have all other programs turned off.
i am jsut wasting these crappy discs. my 8x were perfect.

getwrite errors still. it always goes past the set burn speed. then dropps to 0x then gives error. they will usually burn 3 or 4% then give errors. it is drivin me crazy.
