hi ok heres the deal....

I have downloaded 2 files, once they had finished downloading i unzipped the files, i was then left with a DVDRip.XViD.avi file.

The avi file runs smoothly on my P.C however when i try to turn it into a DVD file , my troubles begin.

I have used DVDSANTA , DIVX2DVD , AVI2DVD programmes .
It all encodes succesfully , however when i veiw the VOB file prior to burning , there are parts of the movie that start sticking and little green squares appear.

I am sick of this , is there any full proof way of doing this , not even a free way if i gota use a retail programe i will do..

Or any ideas what cause this . It cant be the media as the VOB file sticks etc prior to burning..

thanks for takin time to read

I was discussing this problem with a senior member over the weekend, I'd reccommended VSO dvxtodvd for converting multiple AVI mpeg music vids onto DVD using Shrink/nero.
He said his preview of the VOB files showed a of pixellation, and wouldn't bother to burn a disc.
I've never looked at mine.

I've never had that problem, Lots of others 'tho lol

And I always follow scubapetes advice "when learning a program, always use a RW disc!"

for the sake of an extra 20 mins ??

Downloaded video files often contain errors not apparent on viewing, but will cause trouble during transcoding. When that happens, I would:
1) use a video fixer to fix the errors (not 100%), and/or
2) use a video converting program (e.g. Power Video Converter, X Video Converter) to change the codec of the AVI to e.g. XviD. The problems would go away if the conversion is successful, and/or
3) cut away the corrupted parts.
You may try these methods.
Good luck!

Hi there,

I maybe way way off here, but I recall reading something about those green dots etc...

Are you converting a PAL .AVI and didn't tell DivXtoDVD to convert to NTSC ?

Maybe it's still in PAL (25 fps) instead of 29,97fps for NTSC ?

My 1 cent, cause not even sure it's worth 2 cents :) :)

try DIVFIX on strip and rebuild before encoding!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
