The DVD will reach 90% of encoding to my hard drive then it will give me an error. Why is this happening? And can i still burn the data at 90% onto a DVD and have it play on my DVD player (I'm guessing no b/c it's still missing Video_TS.BUP and .ifo files)

No I don't think that will be watchable if you burn it. CRC errors are usually because of a damaged/dirty/defective disc. Try cleaning it, if that doesn't work try DVD Decrypter to rip it. Check out ScubaPete's guide (link in my sig) about forced ripping with decrypter.

Good luck and welcome to AD.
