Hi okay i got V3 PS2 en usually burn all my games on Verbatim DVD-R MCC. I use dvd decrypter to burn the games. But every now and then dvd decrypter burns the game at a diferent speed to the one i set, like i always burn on one but it will burn at 1.9x/2x or with the new verbatims flat out 4x!!!! Hence this makes it really hard for my ps2 to read the game so i go through like a hundred resets until it works. I have a magic3 chip. This is my dvd model LG HL - DT - ST DVDRAM GSA-4120B. Could someone please help me,really need it.

Are you using the same media for these all the time? Burning at 2x should be perfectly fine for everyone. Many may start having some problems burning at 4x or higher though depending on what variables you have. (burner, media, ps2 model, etc.)

Also, if you use 8x max media or higher, you may not be able to burn slower than 4x.

DVD Decrypter will burn at the best speed for whatever media you use. Like my *X discs burn at 3.8X even when i set it to 1X write speed.
If all the other discs you had worked fine, I would say it is the new batch of discs. Are they the same verbatim discs that you burned all the others on? Same speed, same format (+R or -R)?
I set DVD Decrypter to 1X and use both TDK and Philips discs and never have a problem.

you have a v3 ps2(very old).clean your lens and maybe adjust the lens(if cleaning doesnt work).its not as hard as it sounds and cleaning your lens is something you should do routinely, anyway.it cost little or no money and it will eliminate your ps2 as the problem before you go chasing your tail finding other solutions.other people as well as myself have played games burned at 4x so the ps2 is capable of reading discs copied at these speeds.

When you do get a game to burn at a lower speed..does it work every time for you on your ps2? Or does every backup disc you have, have the same trouble loading? And when you do get it to load, does it have problems reading during gameplay, like disc read errors?

Hi,yeah these are the same verbatim's i've been using. DVD Decrypter sometimes burns at like 1.8 or 1.9x which gives probz en when it burns at 1.2 or so it worx perfect(the backups). My lens are clean, clean em at least every 2 months or more. The new verbatims i bought are 8x but backed up games for a friend on em and they burnt at 1.2x for all the games but now with the same ones i bought they are burning at 3.8x or 4x!!!!!
