Hi, im new to this forum and just recentally started backing up my games.Only im having trouble with safedisc games like Call of duty.I can of course get a mini image to work so i can play it without the cd, but that doesnt help me if i get a new comp.I used a-ray which says its safedisc 3.10 or 3.15.Ive tried burning it on alcohol under safedisc 2/3 default settings, doesnt work. And ive tried clonecd to which didnt work.Im DLing disc juggler right now but if it doesnt work, does that mean my Plextor PX-172SA cant beat the protection?

You aren't by chance referring to the Plextor 712 SA are you?

What speeds are you reading and writing at?

oops, dislexia,hehe yup i meant 712 sa.

well i've burned it from maximun all the ways down to 4x and the errors would show up.

But i think disc juggler did the trick, i can get the game to start with the iso's but ill see if i can get it to install.

But any info on the burning rep of my drive would still be appreciated:)

Are you referring to the errors at the beginning of the dumping process? If so it's perfectly normal to see a mass of them right away when doing a SafeDisc protected game. Just let A120 do its thing and they'll eventually end.

The PX-712A is an awesome burner for games so you've got that base covered quite well :)

My Plexy PX-712SA easily backs up Safedisc 4.0 so you should have no problems with this one. Use Alcohol 120%, read the image of the disc at 4x and choose the Safedisc 2/3 profile. Burn the image at 4x using the Safedisc 2/3 profile (RAW DAO) and play the backup in a cd/dvd-rom.

Try creating a mini image with Alcohol 120%? Some newer pc games are blacklisted, therefor won't run with emulation (Alcohol 120%,Daemon Tools, Virtual Clone Drive). Don't have a cd/dvd-rom?

Im just stingy when it comes to cd's an dvd's :D

Oh well, it works on discjuggler so no point in me trying to get it to work with Alcohol...kinda wierd how it worked out.

So the image you made with PD works with Daemon Tools or some other type of emulation? The goal is to 1st see if you can make a true 1:1 backup of Safedisc cd protection, then run the game via any virtual stealth drive. Safedisc 4.0 is causing havoc trying to run this new cd protection via emulation. (Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% virtual stealth drive)

yes, when i make a full copy with padus discjuggler, and run it off daemon, the game runs. The only quirk is when I press single player to start the game, the loading screen comes up and then like around 7 errors popup saying different files are not valid window images. But i just press ok on those and the game continues its startup and plays just fine.
