I just bought a brand new Motorola DCT6412. Before buying it I checked with my cable provider, Adelphia, to make sure that I could use my own box with their service. Turns out now that they don't have anyway of setting it up for proper billing. They can turn it on but then they'd have to charge me rental fees. Why don't they just include the rental fees with the service fees if they don't allow you not rent their equipment?

Anyways, do you guys know of anyway to get my DCT6412 to work with my existing service? I legitimatly pay for the service I just dont want to keep paying them rental fees.
