Are you using the last version of Decrypter - 3.5.4.0? While I have tried this movie yet I haven't read of any new encryptions. Try the latest AnyDVD (5.2.3.1) with your burning program of choice.

Beta version of AnyDVD

http://update.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD5241.exe

5.2.4.1, 2005 06 10

- New: Added support for a new version of the "Sony ARccOS
protection" as found on "Closer" R2 (UK, German, Italian)
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable
Sectors" (it should really work now).
- Fix: If AnyDVD was disabled, the "no drive" dialog could
be displayed.
- Fix: If AnyDVD was first disabled and then enabled within
the settings dialog, disc changes were no longer correctly
detected.
- Fix: Bug which could prevent correct backup of early Arccos
protected titles, e.g. Wrestlemania 3 (UK)
- Some minor fixes and improvements

I have never used decrypter. I am trying to do hitch but the "byte" size is way bigger that it says allowed. Can anyone help?

@kbunny226

Do you mean you have ripped your movie using Decrypter and now your file is too big? Are you using DVDShrink along with DVDDecrypter? Need a little more info :~)

I just backed up "Hitch"

You need the newest version of DVD Decrypter, which bypasses Sony's copy protection. You can rip the DVD to either a folder of your choice, or default, which will create a folder under your C: drive.

Once the DVD is ripped, use DVDSrink (DVDShrink.org) to compress it. Hitch is 7.28 gigs, once compressed it's 4.4, which will now fit on DVD-R. Use the "open files" feature in DVDSrink and point it to where the folder is that you ripped to. Also, if you're doing a full disc, I would recommend an analysis, it will compress parts of DVD more than title 1, which is the movie itself, also maximum sharpness looks great!

It's that simple.

Yes, I did the same and it worked with the latest DVD...my only issue was that after using the same version of DVDshrink and DVD Decrypter to do Tarzan 2 it rips it fine, but no sounds for the main movie. Extras and Menus are fine...I'd appreciate any info on this.

I'm not really sure what's going on with your Tarzan DVD. Just make sure you have the right audio streams checked in DVDShrink.

Also, sometimes you don't get sound if you just play it from your hard drive, the folder with all your ripped files. Burn the DVD and see what happens.

Howdy i suggest giving AnyDVD latest version a go if you check slysoft.com and latest version history you will see that it does just what your asking for hope that can help or even latest version of DVD43 if AnyDVD fails but what are the chances of that.

Just as extra input - I just did Hitch, won't go with shrink but latest decrypter worked OK.

Use dvd decrpyter to rip the files in file mode.

Once they are saved onto your hard drive, you can then run dvd shrink
'open files' and open the files dvd decrypter created.

This method works for 'hitch' and 'are we there yet'.
Once decrypted to your hdd dvd shrink will work just fine.

Theres is an offical Hitch thread as well.

Hey all. My problem with Hitch is that it copies with the French track. I'm using AnyDVD 5.2.4.2 in the background and I tried to manually copy and paste the files for the movie and used DVD Shrink. After it copies I change the extension to .mpg and when I open it in anything but PowerDVD it plays the French track. Can anyone help?

No boundries

ArnieBear,

Why is it that when I try to download v 5.2.4.1 the older version 5.2.4.2 downloads instead? I'm also trying to backup Hitch with DVD X Copy Platinum (v. 4.0.3) but I haven't been successful.

If you do what Jizmak and I explained, it should work just fine.

@padilla99
AnyDVD's latest version is 5.2.4.2 - the versions go up in numbers and was released 6/11 after Arniebear's post of the beta version.
XCopy will not handle the Sony copy protection on this disc.
You can also download DVD Decrypter (free) from AD which will handle this movie.

I got Hitch and Are We There Yet to work with just Dvddecrypter. I've had these problems with other movies though. Spanglish is one. It seems that what works for one movie doesn't work for another, even with the same protection.
