I'm trying to make a back up copy of my Honda Navigation DVD in the event mine get's scratched or damaged by one of my kids. I have tried dvd extractor and dvd shrink 3.2 and get messages like:
unable to find video_ts folder
invalid dvd navigation structure
I'm new to this whole burning stuff and am hoping some one can give a newbie step by step instructions on accomplishing what I'm trying to do.
Thanks for any feed back.

whatever burning software that came with your burner/computer should do it, as there's probably no encryption on this one. Just copy it like you were burning a CD.

forgot to mention that I need to compress it. It's 6.9 Gb and the disk is only 4.7 Gb, which is where I'm coming up with the issue. Tried DVD Shrink 3.2 and get the same dvd structure error message. It's showing up on my computer as an .mds (i think) file. Thank you so much for your direction and advice. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond.

How do I know if I have a dual layer burner? Do I then need a dual layer dvd too? Any idea on the cost of these items? I have the teac dvd+rw dv-w58e for my burner. It sounds like that's the way to go using dvddcrypter. How does a dual layer dvd work? I apologize I'm so uneducated on this stuff and do sincerely appreciate everyone that's responded taking the time to answer my probably lame questions.

Ok, I've got a dual burner (or so I'm told) and I have some memeorex double layer dvd+R DL. I have a 9K image of the DVD (MDS) I want copied along with two DVD image I00 & I01 files together totalling about 5.5 GB. Which of the 3 do I copy to the disk? All of them? Will it be smart enough to read it in that format. Would I be better off copying directly from the original disk? Reason I ask is I don't have it at my finger tips, but could get it with a little leg work. Thanks for the feed back.

Has anyone done this and had it work? I just tried it with DVD Decrypter in ISO mode with a Verbatim DL disc, and it didn't work. Are there any specific settings I need to change or can I just use the default ones?

I have just used iso read and then write. Decrypter knows it has a dual layer disk and just writes the image file. As far as I know there are no different settings, just the usual :~)

Just tried it again, but it only half-works. I changed the "book type" settings. I'm going to play with the other settings and see if that helps...

u said that Shrink cannot find correct file structure? And you have an ISO with an MDS file? Did you try to click the File tab at the top (in Shrink), then click Open Disc Image? This is how Shrink usually opens ISO files. Other than that I don't know.
