Is this possible? With which program could I do this? I need to fit the .VOB's on a 4.7 gig, standard blank DVD-R. I used DVD Decrypted to rip my DVD for the backup files. Any suggestions?

yes use DVD Shrink to compress to fit! a free app, it will also use DVD Decrypter burn engine if you set it after hitting backup button!

did you rip in iso mode or file mode? did you want main movie only? as shrink can sort that to, but DVD Decrypter can just rip main movie in file mode, need to set it in the app...

Ripped the DVD movie files, the .VOBs, IFOs blah blah..
