Hi,
I got my new BenQ DVD burner, External (USB 2.0), model EW-162I.
At first, I successfully burned three DVD-R's with data files.
Then, I burned four coasters in a row, of DVD-R's of data files of the same brand, with "write failed at x4" during the Lead-IN.
Note also that in between, I installed "DVD Region+CSS Free" (30-days trial), which apparently runs in the background; and that this software also changed my settings to DMA.
Software: Nero Burning Rom 6 (log below) on WinXP Home.
Hardware: Intel Pentium-4 2800; RAM=512 MB; Disk=80 GB 7200; also has internal CD/RW drive of MSI.

Please advise of any problems you see in the log; and any other advise would be greatly appreciated !

hi

very interesting from my piont of view if what you say is true!

as the error you get in Nero says it or drive hates those discs! but you say that now you have installed region free+css and your drives are now set to DMA mode, this occurs problem occurs...

so before haveing this app loaded and running on PIO mode, you could burn happily away no probs...

ok, i would say uninstall app and change back to pio mode.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.
