hi, i have a slim ps2 and a gameshark2 v5. my friend has swap magic 3.3. i have heard that swap magic was better at booting backups than gameshark, so if i copied my friends swap magic, could i put in gameshark, swap it for sm, and then play my backup? it would be better because swap magic boots better, right? would i still need a slim tool or magic switch? thank you.

As far as I know you cant't copy Swap Magic discs, because your not able to copy the same file(s) that allow the PS2 to boot...you will need to buy your own Swap Magic discs, you would still need a Magic Switch, Flip Top, Mod etc. I just purchased the Swap Magic 3.6 & the Magic Switch Pro, installed in 2 minutes, works great on over 40 plus backups that I have made so far

just use gameshark to load cd loader (its pretty much the same as swap magic), http://www.swapmagicfix.com
And, YES, you will need a slim tool or magic switch etc.

wait i just read the huge backup method list (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/15105) and it says you need an original TOC disc... does that mean you need the original game to play the backup? or is it a different method with cd loader? also, does cd loader work with dvd games too? sorry im asking so much questions and thanks for your help so far

yes, a toc disc is any original ps2 game that is bigger than the backup your trying to load.
