@motogp

Are they AVI files? Is the audio out of synch before or after you burn? If after you burn what speed...preferably anywhere between 2x thru 4x should be your speed of choice. If you right click on the computer icon on your desktop and click properties it will give you the basic specs of your pc.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

i would change your program of choice to that of vso divx to dvd. This should convert your AVI into an mpeg2 or dvd movie format, before you burn it with your Nero.

however what is the source of the files, and do you know if they are corrupt or not?

i like where youre headin andmerr i agree with your choice of softs, however i think there might be other alternatives.
possible de-multiplex with TMPGEnc, this will allow you to compare durations. then put together in Nero Vision Express, so that you can author when the sound appears, if you have the time and are accurate enough, you will have a working product, cause i have never had that problem before when following this method.
however andmerr's idea may poss. work too...
post results.
PS:anmerr, thanx for the help with the sig, i hope it works <!>

Run your downloads through VSO DIVXtoDVD first, I find this fixes all AVI files that i have downloaded so far. Also it is a free programme, changes it to DVD burn format, fast and adds chapter breaks.

use avi2dvd or film machine = excellant - both free apps, and avi2dvd + film machine can use CCE to, i use CCE encoder...

@ rotary

Thanks to brobear I got dvdrb and cce up and running just the time is so looooong. A friend who works video editing suggested canopus procoder. He loaded it onto my laptop but I'm not sure about trying this until I get a working knowledge of cce. Is procoder any good or should i stick with cce. Even used winavi which is decent but I'm into quality not speed. Oh and a thanks to you and others for having the patience to answer trivial questions. I got the media and burning (basic knowledge) down but programs are what concerns me since decrypter is no longer updated.

hi

yes dvdrb / cce is one of the best ways to go, but with any app thats good, time is a sacrifice, i have used procoder v2 and although i didnt test it to the max found it very long encode times and not as good as i thought it would be considering, i mean dont get me wrong here it works very very good, but in relation with the other times / encoders specs i tend not to use procoder if you follow me...

so cce and anything that uses it i am in to.... ;-])

happy burning chap.....

thanks rotary i tried procoder and compared it with dvdrb/ cce and found procoder to be better but I liked the quality much more with cce. Once again you guys have proven to me its worth it to float around and pick up helpful tips on backing up movies.

hi

no probs, if you get into procoder stick around here as there arnt many who use it due to its price tag being a mega amount, so your expreiences with it and its settings will be very welcome to help others big time!

also thr useing the settings in procoder i set all for the top / best output that i could work out as it takes abit of getting to grips with, you may be able to fine tune it better and faster!

i think there a couple maybe 3 version of CP?

laters...
