I try to play certain types of dvds in my Nero player mostly home made by my friends and I get these two messages:MPEG 2 coding and decoding is not available I can purchase this plug in. MPEG 4 coding and decoding is not available click here to purchase these plug ins. I tried downing loading the plug once way back and it never worked right. That was awhile ago and I never really bother with it again because I have other software that will play the movies. Should I be concerned are just keep using the other software.

Nero is still an excellent burning engine.

Did your copy of Nero come packaged with a burner? I ran into a similar problem when I did a clean install and typed in the serial number that I got with my burner, and not the one I got when I purchased the program.

hi there ! looking for a wee bit of advice here,if possible.
i have just found out that my 15yr old son , has downloaded the trial version of nero (latest version).i already had nero startmart installed on my pc.
ever since he did this (approx 2weeks ago), my nero recode wont work ! its as if this download has landed straight ontop of my own nero.
will my own nero be alright after the trial period is over ? and how long is the trial period ?
problem is i cant find the original disc i installed my nero with,with all the code numbers etc.
would appreciate any help/info.

I am not sure what you mean by did I get a burner. (DFL) I have Nero 6.6 not the Ultra Edition. The serial numbers I have came with the CD. I don't know what else to do Rotary. Give me a hint.

hi

your son getting the latest nero is a good thing as it fixes many bugs in older versions, you will need to purchase it, but between you and me if your son is computer savvy he will sort you out! ;-])

little side note though if you had recode you need to download 2 files!
package 1 and 2 (includes smartstart)

you can place serails in the bottom right corner of smartstart clivk the icon

but as mentioned above use divxtodvd to convert its a free app and nero to burn only!

You can plug in more than one serial number in your Nero program.This will activate the player along with recode and other features.Just add some more serials and you should be fine.I know because I got the same message.

Thanks rotary for your reply, i checked all programs, its Nero express2 that i have got(sorry for wrong info).i think the 2 files your talking about are there.
but in all programs,next to Nero express2 (actually above it) is Nero OEM i think this is the trial version.hopefully when trial period ends everything will be ok.i know that you said that i should buy it,but for the time being i'll keep my original one.i only installed it in march,and as we are not that great on pc's yet its probably the better the devil you know for the meantime.
what do you think?
